Yes indeed I do. How 'bout that Last Guardian that needs to hurry up and come out like yesterday?

On a different note though, I'm most of the way through the novelization of Ico and it's not bad; some people would say that outright explaining the story goes against the game's design philosophy, but since it was designed to let people fill in the blanks themselves, and that's exactly what the author is doing here, why not? grin

Great. I'm against the Shadow of the Colossus movie though. The beauty of it can only be properly expressed in a slow video game format. Also the last guardian will probably eat all my time up when it gets released.

Agreed. That game really doesn't seem like it would translate well to the big screen at all.

I love Team ICO's games. I played ICO and Shadow Of The Colossus for the very first time last year, when the HD collection came out. Some of the best games I have ever played.

However, a Shadow of the Colossus movie? No thanks. Most movies based on games suck, and SotC would not work as a movie.

I'm glad the movie is stuck in Development Hell. At least there wont be an ICO movie because they said they would only make that if the SOTC movie gets great sales. and there is no way in Shinigami Realm that will happen.

At least Sony is now working On the last guardian so it has a chance of being released.

So what's the deal with Team ICO breaking up, anyway? Quite a bit of their key players have been leaving, and they've hired an outside studio to finish The Last Guardian. Is it a Creative Differences thing, or maybe a lack of funding from the Sony higher ups?

I'd understand the lack of funding since they've already given the WIP game an overhaul. DNF showed everyone what happens when a dev team is given too much freedom to restart.

[up]What will the ex-Team ICO members do now? Hopefully they won't retire forever, since if The Last Guardian doesn't do a good job of following up on the first two games do to the developer change, they can still make a good Spiritual Successor.

A professional translator has restored and translated a whole bunch of unused text for ICO, apparently 77 of the 115 lines of dialogue in the game got cut from the final product. Most significantly there's text for a deleted scene that gives Yorda some backbone and The Queen a hint of (perhaps faux) sympathetic qualities, a la Rapunzel and Mother Gothel.

[up]Well, that answers at least one question, kind of. It seems that the Queen will terrorize the village if they don't sacrifice the horned boys to her.

Still doesn't quite answer everything though. I guess the horned boys were born with innate magic powers, and if we go by what we know from Sot C, it's probably Dormin's power. Still no clue if the Queen is related to Mono. I'm gonna read through more of that sight for some of the Sot C deleted stuff.

This is probably everyone else's theory, but the queen probably possesses the feminine side of Dormin's soul, while the masculine side is consistently resurfacing and reincrnating through the horned children. The Queen feeds off this power, as the parts of Dormin's power are slowly unified, and the horned boys become shadows that are just extensions of this power. If Mono was resurrected by essentially having the female half of Dormin do a soul transfer into her, then either the Queen IS Mono, or the Queen was once like Yorda and is simply the latest vessel for the female half of Dormin.

The reborn Wader was her first servant, and when he died his power transferred into her. Mono's life was extended, and she's been body hopping from one daughter to another and looking for more horned boys to increase her power.
