Hmm, there's no YKTTW listed on the discussion page, so I went to the Internet Archive to see how long it's been around. It's not new, so it's not an auto-cut. Unfortunately. The earliest version on the Archive has five examples, and that was back in early 2009. It's definitely not a healthy trope.
I think it may be also unnecessarily specific. I think there's a real trope in there somewhere about asking irrelevant questions before making a final statement. This then would be The Same But More Specific. In any case, YKTTW is indeed probably the best way to handle this. But we'll probably need crowners to make any serious changes, even though I think it's crying out for serious changes.
My conclusion: not a trope as it stands, but could be made one by broadening. Needs A Better Description, Needs Examples.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.I have basically the same reasoning, but my conclusion is that it is a trope. However, I don't think it's necessarily as narrow as it's written, so I agree with broadening it. There's no significant change in the use of the trope if it's not about time.

Check out my fanfiction!I think we're basically saying the same thing. I only said that it's not a trope because time is not a valid way of distinguishing it from the broader thing that (we both agree) is a trope.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. So, widening the trope. With or without YKTTW, and with or without cutting meanwhile?

Check out my fanfiction!Ten examples is borderline. I could go either way on YKTTW. I see no reason to cut it, though. The essential things we need are a new name and a new description.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. As for a new name, how about being really original, and call it Unnecessary Precision?
Check out my fanfiction!Clock's ticking.

When cleaning through thesis, I find this. So two things: First, just as the reason stated, it's not thriving. 3 wicks (which 2 are from indexes...), 10 examples. Could be cut if anyone is going to see it at all.
Second, which is probably the reason of this, is that it's too specific. The Llamas With Hats example demonstrates that it can definitely be widened to any non-time situations. And hence solving the Missing Supertrope problem.
So... I suggest move it to YKTTW. Well, if YKTTW is efficient to make it revive.
