When his Bottle Rockets are doing more damage than any one else and he's gunking up enemies and draining their health with his gadgets, you won't begrudge it.
Nope, he's still a nerd. I let him get diamondized once, too.
Just completed the Department Store, where Jeff kept getting electrocuted by the Musicas. GOOD.
For the record, I am aware of how useful he becomes by the end with his gadgets. I just like making fun of him.

I guess Ness and Paula can dull blows using PSI, but how does Jeff survive being mauled by buffalo, sliced up by sapient music discs, incinerated by a kraken, chomped on by a dinosaur, stung by deadly scorpions, having the carbon in his body crystallized, or crushed under a barrage of psychic meteorites?

But he wasn't. Instead, he fought his way through everything in his path, single-handedly rescued Ness and Paula, and then continues to carry his own and take insane amounts of damage to the face without a single superpower to his name, all in the name of sheer, almighty badassery.

And I just like poking fun at Jeff. I refuse to heal him if he gets sunstroke/diamondized, let him get killed by a New Age Retro Hippie, ect.
Good luck trying to get his awesome endgame equipment, in that case.
I know, I know, broken antennae from Uncontrollable Spheres.
Jeff is useful, I just love tormenting him when I'm not progressing the plot.
Unless you mean I won't get the endgame equipment because he'll refuse to listen to me.

Jeff needs the experience to make those items. He can't get any if he's always fainted.
I've kept him strong, I even killed off Ness and Paula for a while to bring him up to speed with Paula, then revived her and brought the two of them up to Ness's general level.
It's just when I'm not advancing the plot I goof off. This game has a lot of fun stuff to do, and a surprisingly large amount of dialogue based on who is leading your party when Ness gets killed. Try talking to Frank without Ness, for example, and he'll argue that the transitive property doesn't apply with friendship and tell you to get out.

Just made it inside Belch's factory on my VC playthrough. Since that means taking a trip in the Sky Runner, I've found out that the changes to the international VC release are tantamount to the changes in the Japanese VC release, e.g. there aren't any besides toning down a few PSI animations to prevent epilepsy triggers. (There are actually fewer changes from the original ROM in the international version.)
Also a bit strange that they haven't changed "yo-yo" to something else, considering Startropics.

That's interesting. Are the Pencil and Eraser statues Octopii and whatever the other one was?
Just got out of Lilliput Steps.
It's still really freakin' weird to just sit there on the couch staring at the screen and then suddenly realize "oh my god, I am playing this on an actual console how awesome is this".
