Half-Life 2

Difficult how?

The main enemy in the last half of the game is basically an alien grunt without the armor.

And? The grunts weren't so tough. I could take them down with two crossbow bolts.

Then again Shepard most likely doesn't have a crossbow XD

He has a sniper rifle, but its the last weapon you get IIRC. Just imagine how difficult it would be if every vort in the game was an alien grunt.

There are just a lot of challenging bits from what I can remember. Haven't played it in years though, so maybe that's just the less-skilled younger me talking.

I found younger me tends to be the harder player. Games of German definitely got last 15 years.

Oh man cake. You're in for a treat. Half life 2 is perhaps the best game ever made. Circlet the best first person shooter ever made, and will probably remain the best first person shooter ever made until half life 3 comes out.

That's YMMV territory. It's definitely up there, but I'd say Crysis ties or beats it for me. The original, not the sequel. There's something about being able to turn invisible and stealth past enemies or think about how to take them out first that makes me happy.

It is very much YMMV territory, but crisis while having an impressive engine and gameplay features just didn't have the same memorable atmosphere and set pieces as half life.

I think Half-Life 2: Episode 2 is the best fps game. Half-Life 2 is "merely" a great fps game.

Started Opposing Force. I just got to "Friendly Fire", so I think I'm doing pretty well.

^^ well I'm sure half-life 3 when it comes will blow everything else out of the water.

Made it to "Vicarious Reality". I hate Icthyosaurs.

Now made it to "Foxtrot Uniform". Now on a segment where I have to run from a horde of Pit Drones and Voltigores in the sewer tunnels of Black Mesa. Screw you Gearbox, why did you do this?

Yeeeeeah, the sewer tunnels! That's the one part I was thinking of when I said "challenging bits". Good luck!

Well I watched a walkthrough that told me what to do so hopefully when I play it next it won't be as bad XD

Double-posting to say I beat Opposing Force. Bit of a bug issue with the last boss but nothing the console couldn't fix.

Congrats! I'll have to go back and play that one of these days...

Hm...Should I keep going through the series, or should I pause for now and play Portal?

Did you start taking damage on the right turret?

Pardon? Like when I got onto it? Not really unless you count him either hitting me with his tentacles or using his Breath Weapon.

The bug issue was the Gene Worm dying and then getting sucked back into the portal instead of slowly disappearing and the teleport thing wouldn't send you into the Osprey at the end.

Oh. I was thinking of the bug I had.

Portal is pretty short, I'd go for it before HL 2. Then HL 2 and episodes, then Portal 2. Have fun! I just recently finished HL 2 E 2.

Is there a way to restore the original music on the Steam version of the Gearbox games?

apparently they were restored sometime ago through steam itself.
