I'm amazed he didn't mention anything about Peter's circle of friends being the cast of the latest Whatever Shore.
Can I stab my eyes and get them replaced by one that haven't read that awful feature.
Maybe this's why we got the dubstep Electro.
I like Wack'd's point about Spidey being "No big deal" while Peter is "Everything is a massive big deal!"
The thing about Spider-Man is, Spider-Man is Escapist Fantasy. Not for you. For Peter. It's Peter's own Escapist Fantasy. Spider-Man is witty, Spider-Man is awesome, Spider-Man is afraid of nothing, Spider-Man can do it all! Spider-Man is the person Peter wishes he could be when he's sitting in class taking spitballs to the back of his head.
Whenever he's feeling down, whenever life is dragging on him, he can just go be Spider-Man for a while.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.That's an aspect of the character I've always loved. It is something optimistic about the character. I can't say any of the films have tapped into it satisfactorily.
To give credit where credit is due, that post originated here. Wack'd merely reblogged it.
Oh God! Natural light!Oh. I missed that.
It's still a good point.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.The idea for Amazing Spider-Man 3 was to have Spider-Man resurrect people.
I was disappointed because I’m totally selfish and greedy. I came back briefly in two and possibly in [The Amazing Spider-Man] 3, there was this idea at one point that Spider-Man would be able to take this formula and regenerate the people in his life that had died. So, there was this discussion that Captain Stacy would come back even bigger in episode 3. So I was like, lets go!
And if he’s regenerating people who died, then I’m sure that would include Uncle Ben and Gwen Stacy as well, right?
Eh. Wouldn't be the first time Spidey Death Is Cheaped someone.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!I am pretty sure he is joking.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Trying to find the full interview.
And I'm never gonna be able to do that, with any film.
Owie.
He is probably just depressed. And blaming himself for the rest of the movie's problems. Even the ones unrelated to his acting.
Hopefully he will recover eventually.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Even if the films had issues, I can always respect an actor who wanted to do his best on it.
Considering that he is working on some highly prolific movies with awards chances, I think he will. He is a truly talented actor...in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if we got to see him in the MCU one day, but in an entirely different role.
I definitely hope the MCU casts him as something big someday, a la Chris Evans.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Yeah, he was not the problem with this movie. He did his best.
He was great. Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone were the best parts of the franchise.
He shouldn't blame himself for Amazing's failure. He was not the problem, not by a longshot.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Neither was Webb, though. I actually liked a lot of what he did. I wish they had allowed him to stick with the tone and style of TAS 1
Yeah... Andrew Garfield was the best Spider-Man compared to Toby Mc Guire's rather... uneven performance and other issues. At the very least, he didn't have stunted narmy acting that took me out of the film like several of the original trilogy's films. Garfield and Stone's chemistry was THE BEST PART of both films. The first film was a success with no doubts about it. The second one ran into issues, but it had little to do with Garfield himself.
For me Garfield's performance was wildly unbalanced, switching from Cool Loser to conversationally stunted to charmingly awkward, sometimes all in the same scene. In some ways that is better than Maguire's approach, as he did well in the quiet moments but was not exactly magnetic in those big moments (Maguire is a minimalist actor). Garfield was a lot more compelling in those big moments.
Truth is both ASM films felt heavily written and directed by committee, it's well established that a lot of material was omitted from both films, Mary Jane in ASM 2 most famously. Considering they were both 2 1/2 hour movies, it makes you wonder why they filmed so much material.
I want a recut, especially of The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Here's an ex-MTV exec's rejected pitch to Amy Pascal for a Spider-Man movie
Hey Amy - just a couple of rando thoughts from 35,000 LAX-JFK:
- A rising trend we see with Millennials are the really extreme forms of experiential exercise like Tough Mudder (a sort of filthy triathalon), the Color Run and even things like Hot Power Yoga, veganism etc. Millennials will often post “N.B.D.” on their social media after doing it , as in No Big Deal, also known as the “humble brag”.....wondering if Spidey could get into that in some way....he’s super athletic, bendy, strong, intense....and it’s all NBD to him, of course.
- EDM (electronic dance music) is the defining music for Millennials. Wondering if there’s an EDM angle somewhere with Spidey? His movements are beautiful, would be awesome with a killer DJ behind it
- Snapchat just launched a “story” functionality, which is sort of “day in the life of me” told in a series of snapchats that expire after 24 hours. It has a very VIP quality about it, since invitation only. Getting invited into Spidey’s Snapchat circle would be huge, and very buzzworthy and cool.
