The page image is just some girl sitting at a table at a cafe. The only thing that even hints at the trope in question is the caption explaining why she fits the trope. So, not only Does Not Illustrate but it's also Just A Face And A Caption.

I say we either replace it with a better image, or if there are no better images, we just don't have any image for the page period. Either way, the current picture has to go.

Yeah, that's a pretty bad pic. There's no indication she's trapped in luxury other than her bored look.

Holy crap, talk about a JAFAAC...yank that sucker.

Looking through the examples, I'm not sure how we'd go about pic'ing this.

Textbook JAFAAC, let's pull it.

While we're at it, I don't see why this page has two page quotes. Shall we cut the second?

How is this pic even remotely related? Pull it.

The only way I can imagine a good picture is if we see a nice place that the characters is in that has a bolted door.

GIS turned up this, this and this. The first one is a more literal example, the second one is interesting but might not look good at wiki size. The third one is good, but I'm not sure how well it conveys the trope.

[up] The first one works as a Visual Pun. The second isn't clear at wiki size, and the third doesn't seem like it fits.

[up]Agree about the third pic.

Also, another shot of the music video 1.

I like the Visual Pun. Also, with all the ornaments it looks like an actual example.

All the others seem to lack some aspect or the other.

I also did a google search and managed to turn up this. There's also this which, well, spells it out quite obviously.

Like 14.1.

Same. Does it work well wiki-size?

It still looks fine when scaled down to 350 width.

Now that I've looked at the page source, though, I just realized that we should probably ask for permission first. Contact info is here.

I'd support 14.1 if we can get permission.

Neither 14.1 nor 14.2 show much of a cage to me (one is a girl looking out a window, the other looks as much as the frame of a bed).

I prefer the visual pun (which, as noted above, is actually an example too).

14.1 is bad. You can't really see the "imprisoned in a rich environment" trope there as I can't see anything good in the supposed prison.

14.2 is also a Visual Pun, but shows less of the trope than the previous one.

Well, she clearly wants out, and it's a rich place. Does it have to be an actual cage, or an actual prisoner?

The outside of the cage looks well, not so much the inside. Also, this scene does not at all look like the trope, but like something else.

[up]What do you mean with the first part, and how does that relate to the trope? I disagree with the latter part.

Is a thick red curtain really a sign of a Gilded Cage? Especially since it looks better outside.

Of course it would look better on the outside, since she's trapped. If it was a wasteland outside it wouldn't show the trope at all. There would be no "wanting to get out" that implies the "locked in" bit.

The curtain is part of what's showing that the standard is pretty high inside, and it sort of acts like an intended barrier.
