The problems with the Dance In The Vampire Bund anime can be summed up by the fact that the manga-ka wanted them to go in a completely original direction while the production staff would have preferred to do a straight adaption of the manga and so we wound up with a half-assed compromise that was not truly one nor the other.

Yoshino seems to be at his best when being supervised, like when he did Code Geass and Macross Frontier, which had Goro and Kawamori overlooking his writing respectively. When he only vets his writing himself, like with Guilty Crown, it winds up a trainwreck.

[up] Yeah, I'd say that sums up Yoshino best. The really odd thing is that Yoshino is very much in-demand to write for anime. Guilty Crown sold very well for a Noitamin A show(although it sold really well for the first few volumes and then sales dropped like a stone it seems).

Anyway, for Winter, we still don't know if the following shows will end up as Winter anime or further along like Spring:

Oreimo and Haganai are under the same studio right?

Aaand it seems Seitokai no Ichizon got switched over there to AIC too. O_O

Winter just got a little more epic. Maoyuu Maou Yuusha confirmed for Winter. A lot of the same people as Spice & Wolf too. So this anime is very likely a Come for the Demons, Stay for the Economics type. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2012-09-24/ami-koshimizu-jun-fukuyama-lead-maoyu-mao-yusha-anime-cast

Ah, that's one I've heard a lot about but could never get into. Also, Date A Live is probably going to air in Winter, but there's no confirmed season yet

The exact same VAs for the male and female leads of Spice and Wolf are the male and female leads of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha? Most of the remaining cast also overlaps?

Seems legit.

Also, whoever added the synopsis for it to the page couldn't have screwed it up more. Excuse me as I fix that.

Title of 2nd season of Haganai is Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai NEXT. I'll have to edit the Winter page so the title is there.

I have been seeing conflicting reports whether Amnesia and Love Live School Idol Project are Winter 2013 or Spring 2013 shows. I'll leave that alone until I see something that puts them definately in one season or another. Right now, the only series that I know for sure that is confirmed for Spring 2013 is the 2nd season of Uta Pri(Uta no Prince-sama)

OK, heard from a reliable source on Animesuki that Oreimo season 2 will be animated this time by A-1 pictures and that it is supposedly scheduled to be a Spring 2013 Anime.

The Spring 2013 tweet(I cannot read Japanese) https://twitter.com/k_hayate/status/254783920137187328

A-1 Pictures animating the 2nd season of Oreimo(announced at the Dengeki Festival) https://twitter.com/yossy214/status/254783136783798272

Looks like I'll have to start the Spring 2013 anime page.

Finally added pictures to everything on Winter 2013 Anime, and PV links to two.

Also, disappointed in the fact that no one has done it in the past month or so.

I'd of gotten around to adding the PVs eventually, but I honestly don't care that much about the images. And I'm not entirely certain where to look for them, either

Did you just get the pictures off Google?

[up] Yeah, and then I cropped them to size at http://rsizr.com/. Except the mao mao thing's, which I cropped directly from the PV from youtube.

[up][up] I just feel that they are an important part of identifying basic genres, atmospheres, and the probability of a show being good.

That'd work better if you made a point of using art tied to the anime version... Also if official art wasn't known for being misleading

Thanks Ever9 for making the Winter page look great.

OK, I saw a post on Animesuki a few weeks back which translated something but sounded uncertain about the right translation, and it wasn't followed up on. I was hoping someone could translate this Yaraon post(which I guess is about Love Live!) http://yaraon.blog109.fc2.com/blog-entry-11840.html

Yama no Susume has been confirmed for January http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2012-10-11/yoko-hikasa-joins-yama-no-susume-tv-anime-cast

Could be interesting as one of the characters is acrophobic(fear of heights), and I know that I can barely go three or four feet up a ladder without getting really nervous.

any thoughts on Sasami-san @ Ganbaranai?

it has Akiyuki Shinbo in it, so I'll probably come for the crazy visuals and stay for whatever it'll make me stay for.

There's no Part 1, I just thought it was funny at the time.

I am not sure how the write this one up, but Cuticle Detective Inaba has been confirmed for January http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2012-10-18/asami-shimoda-miyu-irino-join-cuticle-detective-inaba-cast

Also gdgd faires 2 was confirmed for January too, but since the first season wasn't put on a page, I am unsure if anyone would be interested in the second season.

Well, I added it (Inaba, not fairies)

Speaking of things that are hard to write up, do we know anything else about Yama No Susume? What we have on it doesn't really sound like something that'd work for an entire series

According to this one site, it's about two childhood friends (one is afraid of mountains while the other likes climbing), who decide to climb a mountain together to see the rising sun as they used to when they were younger. Here is the official site.

It also says that only one manga volume is published in Japan. Huh, one volume and it's already getting an anime?

It's been running since August in what I assume is a monthly magazine. That would give it 16 chapters before the anime begins its run, with another three chapters running while the anime airs. 19 monthly-length chapters can fit into the standard 12 episodes just fine. Sankarea and To Love-Ru Darkness don't have many chapters either.

I'm more surprised that something from such an obscure magazine was picked up so quickly. Something must be going in in the background here.
