Wait, why would Frozen doing well make it take time for Elsa and Anna to join the team? :S

Because they can keep the Frozen merchandise discrete and have two profitable franchises running side by side.

I don't really see the difference between Disney having one Franchise which makes a lot of money or splitting the money between two Franchises? I guess it is only a matter of time. One year waiting was so far normal before the official coronation.

Because they're hoping not to have to split it. I'm sure there are lots of people who love Frozen but have a knee-jerk reaction against Disney Princess—these people can be counted on to buy Elsa merchandise as long as it hasn't been folded into the DP brand.

I'll say one thing, though—when they do finally move the Frozen gear to Clearance, they'd better advertise it as a "Hoo Hoo! Big Summer Blowout!" or I will be disappoint.

Disney Princess tends to have a negative connotation around it in some circles so I can see the reason for the divide on Disney's end. Pretty much everyone and their mother adopted Frozen as being the "voice" for their group.

And to resurrect this thread, some Robot Chicken focusing on our favorite princesses.

Is Snow White voiced by the same person who does Princess Unikitty?

Disney has confirmed Enchanted 2

Should be interesting. The first Enchanted came out in an environment where all of Hollywood was convinced that princess and fairy tale movies aren't profitable anymore outside of parody. The sequel will come out in an environment where Disney had recently proven repeatedly that the film-going audience is very much still interested in non-parody princess and fairy tale movies. I wonder how the sequel will be affected by this.

That said, their choice of writers worries me.

[up] Yeah; I was excited until I saw who the writers were. XD I'll still give it the benefit of the doubt, though.

Bump. I remembered a thought I had. I think the Hershey Store in downtown Chicago would be more fun if it had Disney Princess stuff in it.

Decided to finally start a page for Pocket Princesses. Wiki Magic and Entry Pimping would be welcomed.

If we are talking about it, what was it trying to say? It started with Snow White being unimpressed with Merida possibly existing to pander to people, but then it suggested by some of the other princesses that the classic princesses and Ariel were snobs, but then it just killed them all for no reason. Did they forget to write a character in for us to relate to or something? Or was Merida that person and they did a terrible job depicting her as such (her mother being still a bear).

Yep, same old Robot Chicken. That's like 50% of its humor, and I'm being generous.

I meant the Fanfic monstruosity of Pocket Princesess. And Merida is terrible and the parody did something right by killing her. Not that I want her to die but still.

Last time I checked Merida is mostly popular with pseudo-feminist mothers who buy into the whole "feminist princess" nonsense. The Disney Princess Fans are more lukewarm about her. Some simply don't want a Pixar movie in the line-up. Others are not able to get over the fact that she poisoned her own mother and consider her therefor an awful character. Some actually like her, but she is hardly the kind of princess which you would find on the number one spot of many fans favourite list. She is no Belle, Cinderella, Ariel or Rapunzel.

Merida comes across as far too bratty in the movie, but I must admit it warms my heart to see little girls walking around with toy archery sets. I sort of had a thing for archery when I was little, but toys like that didn't exist.
