I figured Ikra was a high-ranking general or construct or anything other than Aku himself. He/She was so... not Aku. The Swamp Hermit disguise was more of what we're used to.
I remember being very confused by that as a child.
....So I had the worst premonition that the Scotsman is going to die...he's already old and we know Jack is getting back to the past.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I'm betting 10 grand that the Scotsman dies. There's just no way that they wouldn't skip an opportunity for instant drama.
As long as he goes out swinging I'll be okay with it.
‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’So I was rewatching old episodes and it occurred to me. Does anyone else think the Baby/Momotaro might return in some way?
I would be kinda disappointed if they don't have some cameos of one-time characters in this season.
..... yeah. I fear the Scotsman is a goner. I just have a gut feeling. He's already in a wheelchair. He's an old man. He constantly lives on the edge and gets a thrill out of putting his life on the line. He's too loved a character to keep a dramatic a plot point away, given how depressing this season has been. I just ask for a grand, beautiful funeral with majestic music and animation!
So what if this series ends with Jack NOT being able to go back in time to his family? How would they put some happy-ending or bittersweet elements in that?

For some reason I imagine if a funeral happens, Jack would play the bagpipes himself.
I doubt Jack ever learned how to play bagpipes though.
Doesn't matter!
He can learn anything in a short timespan.
It's been 3000 years…Like how to Jump Good.
Bagpipes always sound identical whether you know how to play them or not.
To be honest I don't think even the Scotsman knows how to play them XD
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.So, what can we expect from the upcoming new episode?
Going off the preview, a Breather Episode.

‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’This could be the cave where Jack dropped his sword, though. I'm very suspicious of the green hue of the acid.
It's been 3000 years…Yeah, that's a possibility. He has to get it back at some point, after all.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.The episode description is weirdly spoiler-y for the next episode. Like, almost nothing about the preview implied what the description says.
Seriously, if you want to go in fresh, do not look it up.

This song needs more love. That's practically telling me to look it up!
"We be we baby!"Yeah, the description heavily, heavily implies this is the start of Ashi's Heel–Face Turn, unless Scaramouch suddenly returns from the grave (not that I'd be opposed to that), there's no other "deadly assassins" for Jack to Enemy Mine with that come to mind.
Also, as far as where the relationship between Jack and Ashi would go if there is indeed a Heel–Face Turn, I'd say Father-Daughter surrogate, or perhaps even literal if some 20 something years ago at a low point in his long, long life Jack was seduced by a mysterious woman of dubious repute in some far away tavern, because hot damn would that be a gut punch for Jack.

The better option would have just been to not even mention it.
That's also very possible.
So uh, a few descriptions for the next few episodes are out :V
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Well please use spoiler tags. I'm not gonna read the summaries.
We all knew that Ikra was Aku the entire time, but following their brief adventure and inevitably hearing the jewel shatter at the end is still heartbreaking.
