It's an interesting website and worth a visit or two. Ask them to add more rock stars and let them know who's passed!

Ravi Shankar is considered a rock star? I mean, he's taught and collaborated with rock stars, but...

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.

Vera Lynn is still alive?

With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.

^^ and ^^^ : The website probably just says "rock stars" for publicity and for the title. I mean look at who else is on the site. Really Chuck Berry is probably the highest actual rock star on the list if you go look at the website, unless George Martin counts as a rock star.

I wouldn’t consider any of them “rock stars.” Vera Lynn and Patty Andrews are definitely from the pre-rock era of pop (fans of which HATED rock!). Dave Brubeck was a star in the world of jazz. Arguably folk singer Pete Seeger and Indian traditional musician Ravi Shankar are influential on rock musicians (especially the latter, remember how many rock stars of the late 60s rushed to buy sitars as a result?) but that doesn’t necessarily make them “rock stars.” And I suppose you could argue that Dave Brubeck inspired budding prog-rockers to experiment with jazzy solos and odd time-signatures. But the very idea that anyone would consider Vera Lynn and Patty Andrews to be “rock stars” is quite laughable.

Cool site. Makes me sad that Ritchie Valens would be 71! So much lost potential.

Guess this would be related. Seems the people playing some genres just age well.

This could be related too.
