Fate/ Still Night

Ten years ago the city of Fuyuki was consumed in a fire. Nobody knows what started the fire except for those who were involved. There have been rumors and whispers though noone has ever been able to confirm what burned down the old city. But the Magi all know. The Masters of an even known in secret as the 4th Holy Grail War.

Recently people have been coming to the newly built city meant to replace the original. And with them came rumors that rippled through the hidden society of the Magi. Rumors that the lost Grail would appear soon. Tales of how a 5th Grail War was coming even sooner than they had expected.

What a few 'lucky' people are about to discover is that these rumors are in fact true.

Welcome to another Fate roleplay. For this one we are ignoring the events of Stay Night and for roleplay purposes Zero took place later than it did in canon. Another twist is that all canon Servants can be played as either a Master or Servant. I myself will be claiming Saber as a Master for instance.

I am also looking for a co-GM since I do not know too much about the Nasuverse.

• Personality: Waver is still Waver, albeit much more mature and confident as a direct result of his time with Broskander. Unlike the average Magus, Waver actually has a conscience. As a teacher he is stern but compassionate, not caring for his student's bloodlines, but their ability. Also, due to interacting to those damn kids so often, Waver will act like a stereotypical grouchy teacher when faced with people younger than him. He's also a chainsmoker, and a lover of videogames.
• History: Come on, don't you know this already? Magus student, wants to prove himself, steals relic, summons best Rider ever, yadda yadda. He went home a changed man, not to mention as one one of the few survivors of the Fourth War. At some point, Waver returned back to London. At the command of the El-Melloi Lords faction within the Mage's Association, the Archibald family was left in ruins after the ninth head, Kayneth Archibald El-Melloi, was assassinated in the Fourth Grail War.Although Kayneth and Waver didn't get along, Waver was still Kayneth's unofficial apprentice and he helped the Archibald family recover. With the situation cleared, the tenth head of the family, a little girl from the lowest branch of the clan, appointed Waver with the title "Lord El-Melloi II" as his reward:"I recognize your deeds to the Archibald family, but since you were only making up for what you caused in the first place, you better serve me for your entire life."

• Abilities: Waver is skilled as an alchemist, as he was shown performing alchemy on water samples taken from the Fuyuki river to test for magic traces, which led to him and Rider discovering Caster's workshop. He is also shown to possess the ability of Memory Manipulation, which he used to alter both Glen's and Martha Mac Kenzie's memory, making them believe that he is their grandson. He improves his ability enough over time that he has no trouble declaring that he is a powerful archmagus as of becoming titled Lord El-Melloi II, but his skills as a magus are still hopelessly average. His true talent is realized as a lecturer due to being the best person at detecting the hidden talent of others and training it. Magi that study under him as students receive no less than the rank of Grand, and it is said they could change the entire internal power structure of the Clock Tower if they were to gather under him. His works as a talent production are regarded as the greatest masterpieces of their time, but he doesn't really care because he is more focused on becoming a successful magus himself.Upon succeeding the El-Melloi title, he inherited Kayneth's Mystic Code, Volumen Hydragyrum, and he was able to improve its functions by modifying it into a kind of humanoid automaton that is similar to the liquid metal Terminator. While it normally does chores, it seems there is a troublesome bug that causes it to run out of control while insisting that it is a killer robot from the future. This may be because of a harmful movie it was shown during its developmental stages.

Does the assassin have to be true assassin, because I've wanted to use my Odysseus assassin for a while. But I also have a Samson berserker, so if Kspam is making an archer I could use that.

Although seriously, I'm almost afraid I'll be typecast for characters like that, so I'll probably refrain if we go the Samson route.

Nman: Yes. I suppose we can have two Assassins running around though I prefer to stick to canon as much as possible outside of the changes mentioned in the first post.

Actually by all accounts, she and her sisters were widely believed to have been the offspring of Typhon and Echidna, or Phorcys and Ceto. Either way, her parentage is distinctly non-human, and her incarnation in the Nasuverse is almost explicitly noted as never even being human to begin with either (it says she was born of mankind's wish for ideal godesses, as opposed to the flawed gods of Olympus, which shows that, despite popular belief to the contrary, Nasu doesn't give one hot shit about the little details of mythology).

The whole "raped by Poseidon" thing was actually Roman, and came to be after those ripoff artists decided they couldn't write their own goddamn mythology and remade the Greeks', so it isn't considered apocryphal to the original Greek canon (what little there is, anyway).

Anyway, we can discuss it via PM if you'd rather not clog the thread. I don't want to be "that guy".

I don't want to screw things up, so I just won't make an assassin then. I'll wait until you figure out if the lion can work before I post either a berserker or other servant. Though I notice now that you said that Saber would be a master, does that mean there's no servant saber claimed yet?

Yes. Nobody has claimed a Servant under the Saber class yet.

@Nman: I could make a busty mistress, if you're looking for one. Would be fun playing the Master of Berserker for a change.

I'm still waiting to see if KSPAM is going to be the berserker or not. I went ahead and wrote up a Samson berserker and Paul Bunyan saber*

, so depending on whether or not he's persuasive enough to change Chariot's mind will determine which servant I try to use. And it's not like Samson requires a Delilah-esque summoner, it would just be entertaining.

Berserkers don't have Magic Resistance as a class skill, so he shouldn't have that. Also, Mad Enhancement doesn't work that way. The Master can turn it on and off at will (although the Servant can too, so if that clause is fulfilled, and it probably will be, just have him turn it on himself, and keep it on permanently).

And now for Heracles:

That bro is Heracles. Heracles is an amiable, easy to get along with person. He's kind and considerate (most of the time), and will staunchly stick by his friends no matter what. Boisterous and jovial, he likes his drink and he likes his women, and is always up for a party. However, don't ask him about his family (any of them), and never, ever make him truly mad. "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry" is an understatement here. Has an unquenchable thirst... FOR ADVENTURE! (as well as no indoor voice)

  • Independent Action (A+): Can remain indefinitely in this world so long as one has prana to sustain materialization. Has a greater resistance to Command Spells than most Servants, requiring a Master of exceptional pedigree to control (this can be ignored if the player controlling the Master doesn't like it)
  • Magic Resistance (B): Cancel spells with a chant below three verses. Even if targeted by High Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals, it is difficult for him to be affected.
• Personal Skills:
  • Bravery (A+): The ability to negate mental interference such as pressure, confusion, fascination, and above all, fear. Has the bonus effect of increasing melee damage.
  • Divinity (A): Heracles was originally 1/2 god, but became a full god after death.
  • Eye of the Mind (False) (B): An innate talent to sense and avoid danger based on intuition that can also be called a sixth sense or precognition, gained through many ordeals and adventures.

• Name: Elysium "Eliza" von Hohenheim
• Age: 5 (appears to be in her late twenties/early thirties)
• Appearance: Because we really needed someone who looked like an Einzbern homunculus.
• Personality: Eliza is a desperate woman. Not desperate for a man (although she's had plenty of offers, many of which she took), or for money (although she's conned a lot of people out of it), or for attention (although her eyes tend to garner it). Eliza is desperate for life. She will do whatever she can to prolong her quickly diminishing life, including kill her own master. She has no qualms with manipulating or betraying anyone, and it could be said she only cares about herself. She seeks the Grail to grant her an immortal body, so she can live how she wants.
• Abilities: 
  • Mystic Eyes of Whisper: A special type of Mystic Eyes which were given to her artificially at her minting. She can perform simple hypnotic suggestion which allows her to fool everyone into believing what she says. Note that it's not necessarily a form of mind control, as the victim is by no means compelled to follow her orders, or act on what she says in any way. It just makes it so that in the face of anything less than absolute evidence, the victim will always believe what she says to be true. 
  • Ice Magic: While she can't use magecraft herself, she possesses the stolen Mystic Code of her murdered master, which allows for simple control over ice, like freezing water, lowering the temperature of the atmosphere, creating ice spikes etc. It can't do anything extreme, but it is a versatile tool combined with her conniving wit.
• Assets: A stolen mansion in Fuyuki city (don't look in the basement), a bunch of fradulent credit cards, and her Mystic Code.
• Bio: A homunculus who grew distressed upon learning of her pitifully short life span. In her fear, she killed her master, trying to escape and live her life to the fullest while she could. But she found she could never be happy with that fear lingering over her shoulder. So she decided to quest for an answer to her fears. She found it in the Holy Grail War.
