Also in the same vein as Glacia, I remember that back in Primary School, "skin" was a very popular colour.

Colours (or colors, if you're American) form an interesting topic. Why? Well, the English language contains a huge number of terms for various shades of colours. I don't know if any other language has as many terms for colours as English does.
As You Know, there are basic colours, which are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Then you have colours like brown, black, gray (or grey) and white. It goes without saying that there are loads of combinations you can form from these colours.
In fact, My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic is a perfect place to examine colours and their names.

Does anyone here work as a painter or has an occupation dealing in colours? I can tell you that I hardly ever hear of gamboge and amaranth on a day-to-day basis!
