The inside covers of the Japanese graphic novels have text on them. It’s basically the same image for all of the novels, so this isn’t actually a spoiler.
The text turns out to be upside-down nigh-illegible katakana, but the Japanese side of the Sn K fanbase has managed to render it into something more readable.
It seems to concern the history of humanity before the walls.
I’m not great at Japanese, but I tried my hand at translation.
Upper Left:
巨人の出現により住処を失い逃げ惑う人々。
People fleeing their homes due to the appearance of the Titans.
Lower Left:
巨人の圧倒的な戦力に成す術もなく、人類は新天地への航海を余儀なくされた。このとき人類のほとんどが死滅したが、その大半は人同士の手によるのでした。
Unable to match the overwhelming force of the Titans, humanity was forced to sail to a new world. At this time, most of humanity had been annihilated, but the majority of this was at the hands of their fellow humans.
Center (under the volume number):
船に乗れたのはごく少数の権力者たちだけであった。
Those who gained passage aboard the ships were only a small fraction composed of the rich and powerful.
Below Center:

The voyage was rough; about half [of the ships?] vanished without reaching the other shore.

In the new world, great walls had originally been prepared.

Yeah, I think some people are just seeing things they want to see. Lol. First off, we know that they aren't in such a position in that place. They'd be straight posture.
Also, that's cross-section of that place. So, not even facing the right direction.

Probably is the canvas. But if it is a hint...It doesn't have to be in that position. Otherwise, that would be an outright spoiler. 
Tried the superpower thing. I got self-sustenance, which I have to say is pretty useless under the circumstances, like, if I survive long enough to use it, I'm already out of danger.
The waifu got experience manipulation, which is hypothetically abusable. Hmm… if she could use the people inside all the titans as targets, there's 300 skill sets to drain right there. There probably wouldn't be any skills that could help unless we had all kinds of equipment, which we don't. But… maybe she could drain the experience of walking from all the titans, rendering them harmless unless you stray to close to them.
So, once they're disabled, the waifu, who is now absurdly resourceful, improvises some contraption to get us the hell out of dodge.
Though, of course, the scenario is dependant on not only the waifu's power being that strong, but also on us realizing that the titans are valid targets for it.
Oh, and that silhouette is most certainly there.

Since I'm in happy nice mood, I think the Military Police won't do too badly - cowards can be good fighters (ex. Jean) and especially since they're usually the top grads of every batch.
