Right. The only consolation I get from this is that someone will die here. There's no way you can save both, especially since it's clear they are both near death. This will end with someone dead. It has to.
One Strip! One Strip!you will be disappointed. I am calling it now that will both live and become shifters by eating cargo titan and zeke allowing bertolt and reiner to survive as the core cast all have plot armor.
When life gives you lemons, burn life's house down with the lemons. There's only one injection, they can't titanize two people… And if the solution was as simple as "inject only half of the syringe" they wouldn't be fighting.
And this too.
…So if both survive, that will be by other means.

What are you going on about? It's not a shifter.
Mankind is unloveable. No more kindness!Yeah.
I mean, if it was possible to just have them split it, that would have been brought up. It's clear that it's all or nothing. There's not enough for both. Only one survivor.
At least I hope, but I must admit, I'm really wondering if that's the case or if they will pull some bullshit myself, but I'm holding out a little hope.
One Strip! One Strip!Erwin said that the Cargo titan is an intelligent titan and we see him speak.
Also Rod Reiss turned into a titan with a mostly evaporated serum and the box has two needles, so it will probably turn out there are two doses in the thing. Erwin wasn't around to see Rod transform and doesn't know he didn't take in the full thing.
It wouldn't be the most absurd way Isayama has made a core cast member survive. Everyone was talking about how Hange could not have survive the explosion from Bertolt but she is alive and barely ruffled.
Really I don't get why people keep worrying. in this show, no cast cast members can die.

When life gives you lemons, burn life's house down with the lemons. You should've listened to me. I knew that Isayama didn't have the balls to actually kill off Armin.
Armin's totally going to be the one that's picked. I even expect Erwin to wake up for a bit and tell Levi to save Armin.
-annoyed because my favorite character is going to be eaten by my least favorite character-

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."We're worried that they may not die, precisely.
Why are you still here if you can offer nothing but negatives?
Zeke, Reiner and Cargo Titan bailed out of there, so you can't extract them. There's only a single serum to titanize someone and a single Shifter that can be eaten, unless you count Eren as well. We have three grievously injured people and only a single serum. Only a single person can be saved.
I'm sick and tired of you being here only to remind us, time and again, how you dislike characters' surviving and "wah wah Isayama can't kill anybody". In this situation, at least one person is guaranteed to die. Even assuming Sasha can survive on her own, there's still a single serum for two people who need medical attention now.
For that matter, Hanji's covered in blood so you can drop the whole "oh she's fine you gaiz" thing.
...sigh.
I liked the chapter. IMO it feels like it capitalizes best on the belief that Isayama cannot kill a plot-important character. Shingeki no Kyojin: Civil War, if you will.
Also props for that nameless schmuck for carrying Erwin over the wall in the first place.

grahThough He's also become an Unwitting Instigator of Doom as well.
One Strip! One Strip! It's not so much that they live as what they keep surviving. It's hard to be worried. Me and Higurashi both still like the series, but that doesn't mean we can't be annoyed at the current developments.
It's not that no one dies, it's the manga keeps trying really hard to make us think it's a possibility, and it's failing to do that after 7 years of no one important ever dying.
Rod transformed on literal fumes! He's titan was defective however, so they might choose to give Erwin the full dose to anyways. And they could split Bert. It would make more sense to just save Erwin, but they might save both anyways.
Hange can still use the 3dmg so she is mostly fine.

On a whim, I decided to look up Marco's death again. Half the results were theories on how Marco was actually a shifter and his corpse was a fake.
I got a few giggles out of it. :)
but HOW?I really appreciate this plot development. I think Isayama probably won't cop out and save both of them, but it would be interesting if Erwin ends up being the one saved (although even I think that's unlikely). Mikasa silently making the decision not to save Sasha was poignant too, even if we all knew that was what she'd do.
(Also, it looks like Mikasa's first response to decisions she's unhappy will always be "kill it with stabbities". I doubt it will actually come to a serious fight, but if it does Mikasa vs Levi would a hell of an encounter (albeit in favor of the latter).)
My biggest problem is that Erwin and Armin both got great death scenes but now at least one will be negated.
I kinda hope they both die and Sasha gets the serum.

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."The difference is that Marco's role in the story was to die for character's development. He never was his own character.
Also why do you think Mikasa is going to fight/kill Levi? She doesn't look like she is going to kill anyone.

When life gives you lemons, burn life's house down with the lemons.Cause she's Mikasa, and when it comes to the things she cares about, she's more than willing to make it dead fast.
She's not perfect (she did hesitate slightly when she first tried to kill Bertholdt and Reiner), but she will try.
Right now, her second best friend is lying dead, and the only thing that can save him is in the hands of someone else, who wants to save another person instead.
She's gonna do what it takes to make sure Armin gets it.
One Strip! One Strip!Well, Mikasa has actually drawn her blade and started walking towards Levi with THAT look on her face. But it's true that I doubt Isayama actually intends for them to throw down right here and now; the situation will probably be resolved some other way.
I hope they don't come to blows over the issue, it'd be terrible timing on the characters' part considering the dangers still ahead of them. I just want Sasha to make it out alive, please Isayama...

I have no beef with Sasha, but if she dies, she dies.
At least there will be more potatoes for everyone else.
One Strip! One Strip!Nobody has any beef with Sasha if you leave her alone with it for five minutes.
They said that Sasha is fine.
When life gives you lemons, burn life's house down with the lemons.Oh.
I say, let Armin and Erwin live and kill her instead.
It'd come out of left field completely.
One Strip! One Strip!I'm "whatever". Even if both don't make it, their (very well done) leading up their death scenes were already wasted because of this chapter, as far as I'm concerned.
Now, if I can just put myself on "whatever" mode with the asoiaf/got 'verse.
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines. So, Sasha escaped her originally scripted death (back when she fought the titan on foot), and ends up dying here instead? Sounds pretty Final Destination style.
@Elfive: Dammit, I was about to make a joke about that too.
At first I was like GOD F_ING DAMMIT NO.
But… this is a more interesting development than I thought. Just… please don't let them BOTH survive, Isayama. That would make all this drama entirely pointless. And I don't like when things are pointless. Okamoto Lynn made a clear choice and let a character die in that situation. Don't be worse than Okamoto Lynn.
Sounds like a good advice for any mangaka actually. Don't be worse than Okamoto Lynn.
