Yeah, that's what the wording sounded like to me, but I want to be sure before potentially reversing progress to a game I simply feel neutrally toward.

^Exactly what I was thinking :D
I always thought it was that way since the beginning, the "downvote" part was just psychological.
Signatures are for lamers.^Apparently developers got rate of positive and negative votes so probably not
Well, I've finally rated every single game on Greenlight.
I've seen so many crappy looking (though admittedly a handful that actually looked good/promising) cube and voxel based games on Greenlight that I'm starting to hate cubes.
As for the thing on the whole, I have to say that Sturgeon's Law seems to be in full effect.
Did you upvote NEO Scavenger, Unepic, Underrail and La-Mulana? o.o
Yep, along with about 280 other things, while I downvoted/ignored far, far more.
All I can say so far is, if you're a game developer and you can't even be bothered to put up a proper trailer of gameplay in your submission, expect no upvotes from me. No, cinematics don't count, and you can thank Final Fantasy for that. Screenshots alone CERTAINLY do not count.
With such limited means of presentation, you really do have to use everything you're given to the utmost, or you come off looking half-arsed.
Furthermore, I think Guantanamo must be destroyed. This ain't a Greenlight game per se, but I think it's worth your attention: Natural Selection 2.
It's an RTS/FPS, with the setting being similar to a mix between Starship Troopers and Aliens. You get to play as either the bugs or the Marines, with one player being the commander who's in charge of setting up defenses, supplies, planning attacks, and warning your guys when a threat is headed their way (they don't get radar, only the commander does). The game is also supposed to be moddable at launch, and they plan to add extra classes, weapons, maps and gear afterwards (or at least they say so).
Here's another one worth checking out - Dino Storm! This game has you playing as a bunch of cowboys who managed to find both dinosaurs, lasers, cannons, and a whole bunch of other crazy tech, and are now trying to use it to gain power over the region!

Everyone, what may or may not be the best and/or worst thing to happen to Greenlight has just happened: MDickie is trying to get on Steam. The artistic mastermind behind The You Testament is bring the greatness of Wrestling Revolution to the PC gaming masses. We need to get this greenlit, after all, it's "Fermented from the developer's 10 years of experience in the genre" (his words, not mine).
Ok, is he trying to be snide and prove a point by trying to get a crap product on Steam?! This whole situation is gonna be even more stupid if people actually start giving this guy positive votes just to spite Valve.
Please, no, the arse doesn't deserve a single cent of anyone's money.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI for one am also pumped for Pro Wrestling X Uprising.

I voted it down simply because it looked like crap.
Upvoted that one because I figured people would buy it, even if I personally despise sports games in all forms.

I agree, Pro Wrestling X does look pretty decent.
I just want to see what will happen if he puts The You Testament on greenlight. The reaction would probably be hilarious.
I'm thinking he might have paid the $100. I first saw it a few days ago, but then it disappeared and I couldn't find it when I did a search. It just showed up again today, when I updated my queue. So I think it may have been removed, but put back up, so maybe he did pay the money for greenlight. Either way, it's on Android Appstore and Itunes, so he at least paid $100 to get on each of those.
For some reason, it says:

How could it be updated before it was added?

Steam Greenlight is a fucking disaster even before the $100 fee.
Honestly, the worst people you want doing American Idol with are gamers. Gamers don't know what the fuck they want.
This is what they want:
- A game they've played 1000 times already
- But different
- And free
The reason Kickstarter works is there's no voting. Just funding.
Jonah FalconWow, so Greenlight sucks because people didn't want more Slenderman Mythos games that could be potentially bandwagoned on You Tube? Great logic.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelIt's not just that.
I've seen some comments, for example on the Shantae game, similar to "Made for DSI, Stays for DSI." and "Half-naked elf girls? Instant downvote. Because thats the worst way to attract people to the game.". And it's not just this game. This game gets all the praise BECAUSE it has proven itself with games already released.
I'll be searching for similar comments on games. Be back briefing.
EDIT: The Jetpack 2 page I shared earlier had this gem of a comment: "Oh god. Get down and STAY DEAD !" Another comment: "It was funny.... years ago, now I wouldn't like to play (and pay) for it now... downvoted"

Signatures are for lamers.Bleh, consider that Shantae is also on iOS...
Then again, people being idiots...stupid purists...
Give me cute or give me...something?I sort of agree with Jonah. Most of the games I've seen Greenlight aren't truly innovative at all; they're just using some idea that's been done by another company or classic game in the past and changing a few things around. Granted, they are some good ideas out there (Octodad and Perpetuum look pretty unique), but the horde of junk entries as well as the fact that a lot of people are voting for games that are already popular on the Indie scene is making it difficult for other little gems to be noticed.
If anything, this whole Greenlight debacle has proven that despite the popular belief, the Indie scene is just as guilty of re-making ideas that have been done before with a different coat of paint or just catering to whatever's currently trendy (notice all the 8-Bit retro platformer games and their variants?)
I thought everyone was aware that Indie games are mostly games from genres that aren't mainstream nowadays hence making them somewhat unique compared to other games :P Except platformers of course, those are just because they are slightly easier to program
Really, you just need to go through games at Desura to see what most indie games are

@Sgt Ricko: Huh, I thought that was already an established facts before...
Give me cute or give me...something?
Okai, still would like to see source
