The recent vandal attack via bot got me thinking. Would it be possible to put in a filter somewhere (perhaps somewhere that tracks new edits?) that would detect text being copy-pasted over multiple pages and then put an edit ban on the handle in question? This would be limited to a certain floor (say, 4+ times pasting the same text) as not to interfere with namespace migration. It'd be somewhat easy to get around if it were a human, but most bots like that don't take the time to change the text they're pasting everywhere. At the very least, it could help against basic bot attacks.

I think the benefit is really marginal. Recommend not to implement it unless a vandal with this MO shows up.
