Although Margaret Thatcher is a wonderful example, this entry is far too Thatcher-centric.

Well, the trope and its name are most associated with her...

Honestly, though, when I read you say "the entry is far too Thatcher centric", I expected to find more Thatcher than what is actually there. One page quote, one brief paragraph explaining where the term came from... The only Thatcher thing that doesn't work well is the image, which is Just A Face And A Caption (not to mention a duplicate from Thatcher's own page).

Would it be better if this was moved to Image Pickin'? Unless someone else begs to differ, it doesn't look like there's much that needs to get done here.

I guess the problem is that it was written as a trope for "people like Margaret Thatcher." It's just one step up from The Margaret Thatcher.

[up]No, it isn't written like that at all. The trope is described clearly and perfectly plainly, and it isn't mentioned until the end of that description that "the model for this in the contemporary world" (which Thatcher is) is elaborated upon. It then goes at length to fit in as many related tropes and concepts as possible, and finally provides a disambiguation between similarly titled subjects. That's a whole lot of nothing special. The description looks no different than any other page with a Trope Namer and/or Codifier that gets identified in the description; I've written up several descriptions for other pages that resemble this format myself. It's fine.

The only real issue is the image, which should be discussed elsewhere.

[up][up]Probably cut the excess gushing. What about a better name?

EDIT: [up]What gushing? And it's a preexisting term. You got a solid reason why we really need to change it?

OP says this page has excess gushing. Might put a link to here for that. There's more gushing on this trope's description than on the description of the gushing about X pages. I'm not this.

[up]The 2nd post: if it happens, I'll stop messing around here and just cut it.

OP didn't mention anything about "excess gushing". He just thought the page was, I quote, "too Thatcher-centric". I said the description is perfectly fine. The only thing that is a problem is the giant Just A Face And A Caption.

If you want less Thatcher on the page, change the image that is already useless.

More importantly, guys, "Description is too <person>-centric" as opposed to unclear or ambiguous is not a TRS topic. Please stop by the Trope Description Improvement Drive in Special Efforts.

As Septimus pointed out, we have a Special Efforts thread for description improvement. Since no other issues were raised in the OP, locking up.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.
