Hmmm....I will tool around with it. Thanks for the help.
Kind of sad really. Ever since the Google+ thing happened more and more bigots, trolls, and just genuine assholes are getting more attention due to how that integration restructured the comment system.
While the comment system in the past was not that great at the very least you could downvote the assholes to hell
Formerly known as Bleddyn And I am feeling like a ghost Resident Perky GothYeah, getting rid of the downvote system to promote positivity ironically gave negative commenters much more attention.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseI just want to see the most upvoted comments at the top, which isn't an actual option for some reason.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?It used to be, but that was gone even before the G+ integration, I believe.
I used to think that "Top Comments" actually did that. In reality, it kind of does that, but it's more like random comments thrown together, with the ones with more likes being relatively close to the top.
Yeah, there's some trick to artificially inducing some variety in there, so the top comments don't just stay there soaking up an ever-increasing number of upvotes forever...
I think the 'see thumbnails on the time bar' feature is broken.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I still wish that we had the options to view all the comments on a video as its own page/series of pages, like we used to have. No "view all comments" button, no pagination for the comments, basically no organization for the comments. You wanna read through all the comments of a video in order from first to last? Too bad, bucko, you're outta lucko.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. It's pretty much the same for favorites. Wanna see something you favorited years ago? Keep clicking till you get there.
Oh wow, Youtube's system is even more broken than I thought! I never thought I could see a phone act as a credit card in terms of identity theft before!
give me a summary please, because I have no idea who any of the people in that video title and thumbnail are and don't know why I should care.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.So a guy had his account hacked and taken down because his phone number was compromised!
Youtube's security system allows you to get a reset code if you have them text you the code. This requires a phone number. This sounds great on paper, but now I worry about handing my phone numbers to people for I fear they'll steal my identity.
My phone should not be compared to my credit card.
Coincidentally enough, I'm currently frustrated with Youtube giving me this "Verify it's you" error. I've had my account for well over 5 years now, had the phone verification for a little while until that got annoying and I disabled it, and now all of a sudden I log in, with the correct password, and Google wants me to use my cellphone anyway.
Screw that.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Is You Tube acting oddly for anyone else?Feels slow.
Secret SignatureYoutube on the 3DS is fucking up again. What is so hard about programming this app?
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyThere is nothing like someone putting an entire YouTube video as an ad to run before another YouTube video. I'm not entirely convinced this was intentional. (The video below is the ad.)
There was a You Tube ad that literally played a (possibly pirated) episode of Bleach if you could believe that.
I wouldn't mind getting that video as an ad.
Youtube is going down the hole again. They are demonetizing videos which are not advertiser friendly.
Basically, what constiutes not "advertiser friendly:"
- Sexually suggestive content, including partial nudity and sexual humor
- Violence, including display of serious injury and events related to violent extremism
- Inappropriate language, including harassment, profanity and vulgar language
- Promotion of drugs and regulated substances, including selling, use and abuse of such items
- Controversial or sensitive subjects and events, including subjects related to war, political conflicts, natural disasters and tragedies, even if graphic imagery is not shown
In my opinion, this is basically 90% of You Tube's content over the years.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? What kind of violence?
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. It's worth mentioning that all of this was already present in the TOS, the controversial content and sensitive content restriction is new though. It appears that they're only just not enforcing this due to advertiser pressure.
Notably, I've seen much more hate and anger about this from people who just watch content, the youtubers themselves seem to be a bit more patient with this.
And here's a kind word on Youtube.
x10: Depending on your browser you should be able to find a plug-in/add-on to do that. I know there's one for Firefox that makes all Youtube comments invisible, and there's others that replace Youtube comments with comments from another site's thread on that video.
