Honestly, I'm surprised he raked in as much as he did.
People have raked in more money in less time on Kick Starter. But many of those were figures still well regarded in their fields like Tim Schafer or Brian Fargo, or are selling a dream like the Ouya. John K.'s problem is that he is notoriously hard to work with, has a massive ego, and hasn't had any major work in nearly a decade. It will be a hard sell, but it could happen.
