Red Lantern Punisher?

Hm... well, comics have endured an Avenging Angel Punisher, a Frankenstein Punisher, and a Black Like Me Punisher, so I'm a little cautious about having Castle go leaping into another genre like that.

What does everybody else think?

Question: Wolverine will be more than passing important in the coming game days. Would Ud mind too terribly if someone took Logan till he could post more regularly?

Red Lantern Punisher does make sense. The question is, should *every* character who is dominated by an Emotion have a Ring? I'd say no, unless we get into a "Blackest Night" situation.

As for my contribution, as I have mentioned before I would like to see the Infinity Gems, each being guarded by a different Lantern Corps.

No, I would not mind. The next few days involve a tour group, so I'm gonna be moving around a lot for the next five or six days.

Already I managed to go see a dinosaur museum, with the main atteaction, the bones themselves, surprisingly shown in a nontouristy, professional manner. Of course we cut the gristle from the bare bones by avoiding most everything else, notably the hiking trails and the kid sized amusement park. Downside of the trip was finding that, out in the country side of China, squat toilet are the majority and implements to dry your hands after washing them is a bit of an unnecessary luxury. Ate at a hotel banquet hall (not the same one I'm staying in), and the public bathroom ran out of paper towel despite clearly having the capacity for it.

I like how there's sort of a loose "junior heroes team" forming in Jump, somewhat separate from the main JA.

Ah, no; I was hoping that on the next game day, we could start off with Jennifer taking up Betsy's offer on trying to rein in her She-Hulk persona - via meditation sessions somewhere. grin

Highlights of July 1, 2015, part 1:

First place was to a section of the city we were in I shall call "Old Town." It is an old village that beem around for a few centuries, lightly restored and the whole place commercialized, including two Mc Donalds and a Pizza Hut. Despite the touristy feel to it, the place felt like it had soul, being more authentic than most places in China, what wi th selli g yak meat and pastieries made of flowers (not a typo). After our guide showed us the main street to meet back in and showing us a few murals and paintings, we explored at our own pace. Also, we met some folks in old period costumes. At first I thought they were actors who worked in Old Town, but there were people chasing after them, followed closely by police. Turns these actors are actually famous celebrities who star in historical dramas, a very popular genre in China, and they were doing a film shooting in old Town due to its historical nature. It would also explain the literal legion of cops there when we first arrived.

After trying to find some missing people in the tour group and subsequently getting behind schedule, we went into a more secluded part of Old Town, basically a scenic nature route complete with a large lake and a naturally occurring bubbling spring.

We spent most of the day in and around a very rural area called Liujian, an area that is steeped in history and culture and is right at the border of the Tibetan mountainrange. The first stop was this small rural marketplace with a shrine and oddly docile horses the owners charge outsiders to ride. The shrine itself was not all that impressive looking, being just an intricate set of waterfalls. What was impressive is that there is a very strict rule against littering into the stream amd waterfall (littering in general is a near epidemic problem in Cuina it seems). Littering itself afflicts the perp with a curse, but outirght urinating in it leads to their genitalia coming off and flying away. Personally, I think that's a bit farfetched. Spontaneous necroptic rotting is more realistic. XD. Anyway, the shrine itself, at the top of a large hill, has a stone pillar depicting a snake on a pole and a falcon perched on top of said pole. The tour guide explained that the main belief around these parts is that there is no heaven or hell, but instead only nature, and the snake represents nature's resentment of being co trolled by humanity. The falcon, while sharing the sentiment, makes sure the snake does not go overboard and try to wipe out humanity. This marketplace was a short stop before lunch and then heading deeper into Liujian.

Forgot to mention this last time: Right after Old Town, we went to a biofirm outside the city that talked about their research in and subsequent selling of a powerful superfood: Spirulina, a type of edible water algae that is cultivated from the nearby lake. It was basically them trying to sell spirulina tablets. While most of the fluff I believe is mere exaggeration, it is mentioned the active chemical in spirulina is a popular ingredient in cancer treatments, and after the Japanese first discovered it, they were trying to gain the land rights to the nearby lake for then completely unknown reasons, since it was discovered all the people who lived by the lake lived longer and healthier lives than others, so there is some reasoning behind it.

Speaking of the nearby lake, the company's main factory is located at the lake itself as there a ludricrously short grace period to process the algae into pills before all the active ingredients are lost. It is also apparently one of the only three places on Earth where spirulina is grown naturally. It can be grown and farmed anywhere, but this lake is one of the only natural sources. My mom bought the gift package deal of one large bottle plus to smaller bottles.

My basic interpretation, that I probably should have checked with the GM first before using, was that the removal of the dark persona also took with it some of the left over spiritual/emotional/psychological grime of life. Catharsis basically, just a powerful one. Not enough to truly change who he is, it's not out an out fixing his psychological problems and emotional hang ups and stuff, but enough to take the edge off all the problems and stress he and all those other negative things he creates for himself and maybe help him recognize some of his bigger issues. Like someone took some soap and water to the outer edge of his soul.

@Lizard. If this is alright with you, let me know. If not, let me know how to change it and I will. Sorry that I didn't think to ask before posting.

Well, I saw the un-brainwashing as simply killing off the evil opposite. Still, that's mostly done with remembering positive that give the evil side no reason to exist. Rogue achieved it by sucking out the bad stuff, along with taking the body close to death. With that method, I think it's plausible that some niggling hangups and bad memories the evil side was using got sapped, leaving a somewhat cleaner, happier mind.

Marvel has recently announced their post-Secret Wars comics line up, and I'd like a moment to discuss it.

First of all, there will be a LOT of them- upwards of 50 titles, I hear. Is this a good idea? I heard that the market had shrunk. And they have to compete with DC (who is also putting out a lot of new titles) plus the rest of the industry's.

And many of them seem so-redundant. Like, there's multiple Avengers teams, multiple X-Men teams, even multiple Spider-Man-related titles! Even odder, many characters who will be appearing in a team book also will be getting their own series. Now this makes sense for popular characters like Deadpool, but why are say, Drax the Destroyer or Karnak the Inhuman getting their own series? These are characters with *very* limited story potential.

And many of the characters have some gimmicks that just don't impress me. Spider-Woman is pregnant? So what? Doctor Strange now carries an axe- THE HELL!? Wolverine was replaced by Old Man Logan- oh great. Note also that *many* of these characters are from alternate universes but will be stuck on the Earth that will (supposedly) be the only one left once Secret Wars is over. I remember that happening over at DC with characters like Power Girl after the Crisis. It was a mess.

So yeah, overall I'm not impressed by this reboot. But at least it doesn't sound as bad as DC's latest, which sounds like they don't give a crap anymore (seriously? Superman has no secret id, dresses like a thug and has an explosive power!? What were they smoking when they wrote this up??)

Opinions?
