But then it ups the stakes for our protags to go beyond what we thought they could.

Read it while listening to Emiya, it's fantastic.

And concerning one particular element that's been added, I think that it's the time for a certain King of Heroes to lay down the law.

I guess that just proves that Shirou is Shirou, regardless of which world he's from.

I'm catching up on some of the chapters I've missed (like the one where Ilya is turned into a doll).

It's an interesting bit of Laser-Guided Karma for Ilya, but also very different from what she tried to do to Shirou.

I'm hoping to find Chapter 23 soon as well.

It was a neat reference, but I think the original was still way better.

The Ainsworths are worth more to me than the Einzberns.

They may be horrible people, but at least they aren't incompetent. Plus, I get the feeling that once they lose, they'll just go away, in contrast to that other family that just keeps existing for some reason to fuck everyone over.

I just caught up with this. HOLY FUCKIN' SHIT. Miyu's Shirou is BADASS as all hell. having Emiya as background music from the moment he entered was great too. also, I wonder if Julian is using the Moon Cell. that could explain Berserker Thor Class Card. also, if that's the case, Tanaka may be a Moon Cell AI tasked with defeating the Ainsworth to free Angelica's Cage from their control

The two aren't even roughly similar

The Huckebeins are an attempt to give the established cast of a long running series an legit threat but the lengths gone to make them have come off as clunky and the attempts to make them sympathetic poorly executed.

The Ainsworth seem to start with one thought... Lets have a group of mages WHO don't have thier heads stuck up thier butts. The Ainsworth's aren't unbeatable the fact Illya and Co has pissed them off so much attests to that.

Its they are legit hard to beat as they should... Its their home turf and the card system is thiers... Them not using those advantages would be stupid.

Its the Nasuverse, Being OP is kinda common.

I don't care. I still don't like them.

I never made a claim on how justified or not their OP-ness was, just on how grating I find them regardless.

It damn well should be.

After seeing him as Sella (or was it Leyrit's; I can't remember) Butt-Monkey and punching bag, it's good to see something closer to proper Shirou again. Though it's interesting that he still knows projection in this world. Makes you wonder if Miyu is really his biological sister, or if Kerry just adopted them both.

It's even better if you actually play EMIYA while reading it

I mean, I think it was something the Einzbern Family did to her while training for the grail War that stunted her growth and cut her lifespan, and not her birth in and of itself.

We've had two flashbacks so far of a toddler Illya with a child Shirow, so yeah, she can.

I guess, but so far, she's at the same physical age she was in the mainstream universe.

I'd expect that the sealing of her Grail self would mean she can age, and that it's Kuro, with her limit existence who will be stuck in that role (which, when you consider that Kuro is just Main universe Ilya in a temporary Archer like body, means she's getting the short end of the stick again).

The Einzbern homuculous are pretty much fully living beings, They are just artificially created

-IE Sella has no soul in the main verse, Liz is 3 years old etc etc- yes that would mean the Einzbern were actaully successful at something.

or

Iri, Sella, Liz and Illya are normal humans that just derive thier looks from an Einzbern lineage

-IE Iri and Illya are from the main Einzbern line and Sella and Liz are from a branch family... making them Cousins to Illya and Iri.-
