Apparently Hirohsi Matsuyama, Katsuhiro Harada, and Yoshinori Ono are drinking buddies.
I wouldn't be surprised if at some point during the games development, the former got some gameplay advice from the latter two.
It has 3d walking like Tekken, yet has several sound effects (The super move one in particular) from Street Fighter IV.
Yoshinori Ono also helped make Asuras Wrath X Street Fighter DLC for that game.

Well, I'd say Part One Dio and Part 3 Dio have a pretty big divergence in their fighting styles as well...

I wonder how. I was beginning to think that Part 1 Dio would rely more on being a trap or distance character such as using his laser eyes and throwing zombies at his enemy? As for traps, maybe have a counter-move where he drains blood or have a chance to decapitate his head and reattach it when certain requirments are met to gain more meter or evade damage.

I hope part 7 Dio makes it in, "Scary Monsters," not that other one. Hot pants would be great too, but I think Gyro and Johnny is already pushing the roster limit.

Well Part 3 Dio never uses his ice powers or eye lasers. Instead he relies on his Stand, The World.

Three or four per part is hardly pushing the roster "limit".
Dio from Part 7 would be a great addition, too.
As would Hot Pants and Valentine.

That D'Arby episode is my favorite in Jojo animation history. The part where he breaks down is like one of the best moments in anime.
I don't know if animators these days can pull that off.

Wow, they're really trying to see just how many characters they can jam-pack into this game, aren't they? Good, it's nice to see a fighting game show a little ambition for once.

Really, it's just Soul Calibur that's been consistently dropping the ball on roster and more. Which is a shame, because I used to love that series.

Joseph's the only character that I will accept 2 versions of. His fighting style in Part 3 is so different from his fighting style in Part 2 that he might as well be considered a new character entirely.
Also, I remember struggling to watch the demo footage because the players were just bad. Not "I have no idea how this game works" bad, but "I don't play fighters" bad. Hopefully we can get some decent gameplay vids soon.
