Okay, so I got my season one set a lot earlier then I thought I would and have watched the first three episodes in English.

Loving all the trainees' voices so far except Sonata's. Still think she sounds too old. Monica Rial as Yuka is by far my favorite. Emily Neves as Chieri was great but she could use some work on her shouting.

I have a better opinion of the Successors - particularly Sayaka (Beth Lazarou) and Kojiharu (Nancy Novotny) - after hearing them more in episode three. That Cynthia Martinez is voicing Takamina is more obvious in the third episode. I also approve of Mayuyu's VA, Hayley Adams, using a completely disinterested tone for the cyborg girl. I wish Tiffany Terrell, voicing Yuko, would sound more livelier with her lines.

Tsubasa is Shelley Calene-Black and I somehow didn't catch that. I first heard her as Kyou in Clannad and didn't really like that match up but I whole heartedly approve of her in this role. She plays and older, mature, and demanding character very well.

I liked the dance sequences more, but I'm not sure if that is a result of me comparing them to low quality Youtube clips, them being upgraded for the blu-ray, or me just being used to them by now. Some lines are drowned out when multiple people are talking, which is a shame because I found them funny in Japanese.

So far I'm getting the vibe that this show lives on Mundane Made Awesome.

While I wouldn't call the real AKB 48 mundane, the show definitely made them more awesome.

Opinions on episodes 4 and 5 English Dub:

I'm getting used to Sonata's voice now. Kanata's VA, Genevieve Simmons, is good and Mimori's, Carli Mosier, sounds a lot like her original. Speaking of Mimori, instead of Mi-mo-ri, they pronounce it Meh-Mori. That reminds me, Nagisa rolls her R's when saying Chieri's name.

Now I do wish they had a chance to dub the songs. Carli Mosier and Genevieve Simmons sang great during that emotional moment at the end of episode 4.

Illich Guardiola plays Ushiyama-sensei and I commend him for playing the role perfectly.

Best part so far was hearing Mimori go, "W-word up, home skillet!" during her Phermone Decreasing exercises.

So his name isn't Prince.

*sad face*

Also, I previously thought that Makoto's sort flat, whiny (for lack of better words) voice was just her... uh, whining, but apparently that's just her normal voice.
