So someone on Salvation pointed out that Magical Hacker is insane with planeswalkers.
Holy shit.
I guess it is.Ah, un-sets.
They're fun BECAUSE they're broken.
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-I still want those Un planeswalkers mentioned.
:smug:The easiest way to get banned from an EDH playgroup forever: use Jace's ultimate on every player in the game, turn after turn, and laugh and laugh and laugh even as everyone slowly begins to leave you, never to return...
deviantArt | TwitterAlternatively, get yourself a Venser emblem every turn.
In 1v1 the best 'walker to abuse with it is definitely Sorin Markov.
I guess it is.Whoa, new thread. I suppose that means I won't have to catch up on our beloved massive Magic thread. Hullo to everyone again.
"Doctor Who means never having to say you're kidding." - BocajHello Yuan.
You're an ad hominem attack! You must read ALL THE THREADS!
But seriously, hello again and welcome back.
"Everything is “we can’t do that” until we figure out a way to do it." - Mark RosewaterHiya, Yuan. You were missed.

You're an ad hominem attack!Room up.
You're an ad hominem attack!Damn, I'm having card problems. I need to redo Oracle. Hang on a second.
You're an ad hominem attack!Same here, actually. I keep forgetting that individually downloading a new set tends to screw things up.
I hate it when I lose the game partially just because I made a tiny play mistake within the first couple turns.
>>Short on lands
>>Play Brainstorm
>>Draw two fetchlands and a burn spell
>>Put the burnspell and one of the fetchlands on top of my library in such a way that I'd draw the second fetchland next turn
>>Play the fetchland I kept
>>Activate it and fetch a mountain
>>Shuffle Library
>>Commence facepalm over own stupidity and proceed to be manascrewed royally

I got quite lucky there - if I hadn't drawn an additional land on my very last turn I'd probably have lost manascrew notwithstanding.

You're an ad hominem attack!Today, I learned that there exists a Legacy deck called ''Balls''. The only thing worse than facing it is the inevitable storm of bad jokes that comes with it.
"Everything is “we can’t do that” until we figure out a way to do it." - Mark RosewaterI'd be interested in seeing a decklist for Balls.

"Everything is “we can’t do that” until we figure out a way to do it." - Mark RosewaterInteresting. Wonder if it's any good.
You're an ad hominem attack! If anybody's interested, my favorite strategic commentator(he's where I learned TF 2 Spy from, and does a lot of Assassin's Creed as well) has gotten into Duels lately. He recently participated in a best-of-three tournament organized by the Wizards Forums, and posted his run on his site. So without further ado, if anybody cares, here's Wingpantt's Ancient Wilds tourney run.
:smug:Very interesting, since he's playing my favorite Dot P deck. However, two points (so far, haven't watched the whole thing): First, he talks about using Wood Elves for deck thinning, decreasing the odds of drawing another Forest "by, like 2%", which is a ridiculous overstatement. I can't remember where to find the article that ran the numbers on "deck thinning", but the real odds lie around less than a hundredth of a percent, if I remember correctly.
Second: He talks a bit too fast for my liking.
Seriously, do we need to call the Mythbusters to debunk deck thinning before people get it? It's almost like the Loch Ness monster of Magic at this point. (Obviously, something like a massive Collective Voyage, Boundless Realms or a Mana Severance does have a noticeable effect. I'm only talking about "one time, one land" deals.)
"Everything is “we can’t do that” until we figure out a way to do it." - Mark RosewaterYeah, that does get a bit old. But as per the talking, he's trying to commentate while he plays. So if he talks too long his opponent has to wait for him.
As for favorite deck, I've yet to unlock them all, but crosswinds and Chandra's fire one are pretty cool so far. Might have to do with really liking haste and fliers.

:smug:Deck thinning in my opinion is not something that should be taken into account when building decks because its impact is so minimal, but while actually playing it is perfectly acceptable for fight for every tiny marginal advantage you can get.
I guess it is.
Just realised how hard Krenko goes in Changeling EDH.
