Yes! Another interesting interpretation of green/blue. This time as trickster archetype. I need more g/u in my life, Bf Z failed me in that regard.
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson. Now you've got me curious as to the UG quotient of various Magic sets.
The results of my research, going back five years and counting only true UG (not blue with green activated abilities or vice versa, and discounting arcs and wedges entirely):
- BFZ: 3 (Bring to Light, Kiora, Skyrider Elf)
- Origins: 1 (Bounding Krasis)
- DTK: 0
- FRF: 1 (Ethereal Ambush)
- Khans: 3 (Icefeather Aven, Sagu Mauler, Secret Plans)
- Magic 2015: 0
- Journey into Nyx: 2 (Kruphix, Fleetfeather Cockatrice)
- Born of the Gods: 2 (Kiora and her Follower)
- Theros: 2 (Horizon Chimera, Prophet of Kruphix)
- Magic 2014: 0
- Dragon's Maze: 8 (Beck//Call [Beck half only], Beetleform Mage, Bred for the Hunt, Krasis Incubation, Plasm Capture, Progenitor Mimic, Species Gorger, Vorel of the Hull Clade)
- Gatecrash: 17 (Biomass Mutation, Bioshift, Biovisionary, Drakewing Krasis, Elusive Krasis, Fathom Mage, Hydroform, Master Biomancer, Merfolk of the Depths, Mystic Genesis, Nimbus Swimmer, Prime Speaker Zegana, Shambleshark, Simic Charm, Unexpected Results, Urban Evolution, Zameck Guildmage)
- Return to Ravnica: 0
- AVR: 0
- DKA: 0
- Innistrad: 0
- Magic 2012: 0
- New Phyrexia: 0
- Mirrodin Besieged: 0
- Scars of Mirrodin: 0
- Magic 2011: 0
- Rise: 0
- Worldwake: 0
- Zendikar: 0
- Magic 2010: 0
Meaning that BFZ has more UG than any given set of Theros, nearly as many as the entirety of Khans block, and more than Innistrad, Scars, and Zendikar put together (although to be fair so does Magic Origins).
2 of the 3 cards in Bf Z are Converge cards. They are not bad, but they don't play around with g/u flavour as much I would like. And I don't like planeswalker cards at all, and avoid them outside lore.
Looking at that list, something dawned on me. I Picked up Magic with original Ravnica, droped it, and returned for Return to Ravnica. G/U 4 ever!

“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.Sorry if this is old, but I've encountered an interesting theory.
If blocks still had three sets, there would be a possibility that each set would have the protagonists battling a different Eldrazi: Ulamog, then Kozilek, then Emrakul.
As it stands, that's still possible by excluding Emrakul and having her show up in a later block.

That's an interesting mechanic. Basically he has you hold some of his +1/+1 counters so he doesn't lose them when he dies and has to be re-cast.
The recast tax doesn't count as CMC, does it? So he can't pump himself.

She, actually. That's a woman.
Huh. So it is. Wasn't really paying much attention to the art.
That said, it took me a while to figure out the kid on Blood Bairn is a girl.
She's Iroas's Champion that gained enough experience to level up.
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.I really hope it will go beyond +1/+1 counters on other commanders. As I'm the least interested in R/W, I'm ok with this one. I also like it cares for playing big stuff.
I wonder if there will be a 5 colour deck that uses all 5 commanders to exploit the experience counters on you.
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.I have my doubts about experience counters being in all the decks.
The Boros commander has me interested. I really want to see what is in the rest of the deck. The big problem with Boros in commander is that it's the two colors with worst card draw.
That's not really a problem with the Commander.
Never mind. I misread "problem with Boros in Commander" as "problem with the Boros Commander".

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I doubt the other decks use experience counters, but it would be cool of some of the othee cards made specifically for this deck interacted with them.
Alsodoes this ability work in the Command Zone?
I don't think so. You won't lose XP counters when she dies, though.
It looks like it would be interesting for Voltron, at the least.
I can't wait to see the full deck list. I know I'm going to put my Godsend in the that deck.
I was under the assumption that 'Experience Counters' were going to be used to some extent by all the decks; I thought I recalled something about the XP Counters being the major gimmick for the 2015 sets akin to 2014 having Planeswalker Commanders and 2013 having Commanders that played with the Command Zone.
Apparently, Eternal Witness cards were found in some BFZ packs with the commander set symbol on them. Dun, dun, duuuuun!

“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson. So we're going back to Innistrad in Apr 2016.
Source please?
Finally catching up with Kiora and learning the value of a trickster god.
