As I've said in my earlier post, only Ulamog remains in Zendikar.
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.New set: Oath of the Gatewatch
[paranoidjoking] They really are going to kill off all the non-Origins walkers, aren't they? [/paranoidjoking]
Breaker of Armies seems like it could be quite good as a limited bomb as it is a 10/8 for 8 that has a built in lure.
I'm liking the Retreat Cycle so far, it reminds me of the siege cycle from Fate Reforged.
I'm kind of surprised they aren't doing watermarks for this set.
Not a super-catchy name, but the implications are a relief to me
The bad guys all have funky frames on the cards. They don't need them.
This, pretty much.
Watermarks would kind of be redundant when all the non-artifact colorless creatures in the set are Eldrazi, and 95% of everyone who's not an Eldrazi is fighting for Zendikar.
That name sounds way too Ravnica. But besides that, I see no major problem about this, besides that this reveal kind of spoiled both Chandra's involvement and the likely end to this story before the first set even comes out...
Also, now we can stop referring to it as "sweat", which is a relief, since that's an even worse name.
I'm also kind of surprised that Gideon isn't dead by then...

''The eternal question of reality, it still stands today.''Idle thought: the Gatewatch may yet have a black member, and it might turn out to be the lithomancer once we find out what her deal is.
I completely expect Nahiri to be revealed as a vampire.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.It's the only way she can still be around, right? Unless kor can live for over 100 years.
That actually reminds me to ask: is it at all possible that Teferi is still kicking around?
Given that his thing is time travel, and he never died as far as we know, it's possible. But he's not a planeswalker anymore. Maybe we'll find out whenever we return to Dominaria, if that ever happens.

''The eternal question of reality, it still stands today.''If a black Planeswalker joins them them, I've got money on Ob Nixilis. I know he's not a Planeswalker at the moment, but he feels like a Chekhov's Gun that has yet to be fired.
He side with the rest because uncertain doom beats the certain doom facing him if the Eldrazi can't be pushed back.
It might also give him a way to rekindle his spark without destroying Zendikar.
Thanks!
Maybe he'll save the world because he needs to destroy it on his own terms later? xD
''The eternal question of reality, it still stands today.''Or save the world because he's stuck there. At the moment if Zendikar dies, he dies with it. What better motivation could there be for a black aligned character to try and save the world?
I imagine there are ways towards immortality or longer life spans besides bargains the likes of which Lilliana signed up for.
Elixar of Immortality is some kind of thing, I think. It should be a thing, at least. Maybe not a thing that grants true, full-time immortality, but still.
How did Venser live as long as he did?
It worked well enough for Jodah.
And Teferi might actually be immortal to the same extent as Jhoira, depending on whether drinking the Tolarian slow-time water affected him while he was a planeswalker.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.Why not Sorin as the black one? And this reveal pretty much means the single titan left will be imprisoned again. Maybe Zendikar can handle at least one titan?
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson. That would require Sorin to actually do something, so I'm all for it.
It just seems like if Sorin were the black member of the Gatewatch, they just would have shown him with the others. We already knew he was invested, after all. The fact that they aren't showing a fifth member implies to me that, if there is one, it's someone they want to keep secret for now.
There are a few ways Nahiri can be alive today. It's only been, like, a century or two at the most since the Mending happened. Prior to that, she was functionally immortal and godlike, as we see for ourselves when she's destroying vampires and slaughtering Eldrazi by shifting Zendikar's landscape as easily as one bends their elbow.
I just think she's a vampire because of the gap in what we know.
- Nahiri sets out to find Sorin.
- ...
- Nahiri is missing from Zendikar and never returns, implying that protecting her world is no longer a goal she possesses.
- Sorin is extremely reluctant to ever have anything to do with Nahiri again, indicating that recruiting her may be more trouble than it's worth.
Something happened to Nahiri. The question is no longer "Where is Nahiri?" but rather "What has Nahiri become?"

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.There is some art of Ob Nixilis floating around where it looks like his demon form is turning back into a suit of armour...
Throw ALL the titans!
