Good start, but focuses too much on SF. There's a reason U Mv C 3's the other half of Big Two.
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.I'm not against it, but the article isn't really about any particular games, per se, but a very general history of the community. For all intents and purposes, it does revolve around Street Fighter.
I know, but SF hasn't been the only major fighting game that shaped history.
Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.Whew.
You are assuming a lot. Many members of the FGC have different views on how the community works and how it has developed; there is a lot of anger at the idea that fighting games were "dying" or "dead" before Street Fighter 4. It's also not only Capcom-influenced, especially outside the United States; in fact, Super Street Fighter 4 AE 2012, Ultimate Marvel 3, and Street Fighter x Tekken are less popular in Japan and Korea than other fighting games.
I get the feeling that if this article were to be linked to by an SRK or Eventhubs forumite, you can bet that a lot of people would be mocking our misconceptions. Ideas like "the fighting game community is struggling with its identity" are controversial at best.

Fight. Struggle. Endure. Suffer. LIVE.Then let me say the same to both of you:
Then fix it.
Check it out here. I'm pretty proud of it, although I'm sure it needs more crosswicking and tweaking. I invite all fans of the FGC to come and help!
