While I am aware this is mostly a forum for writing my intention with this thread is just to bridge the gap between writers and visual artists

I really want you to know that the folks at visual arts are seriously starving from visual arts request and would be more than willing to illustrate some aspect about your writing (maybe a cover or a character design).

Without going too far from the realm of writing *

You can use this thread to flesh out your written descriptions about your characters/backgrounds/etc before asking an artist to interpret your designs(on the visual arts sub forum), or even just post an excerpt of your work , directly to them.

The art request thread is of course here at the visual arts sub-forum .

This is an idea I'd leap at with a fork.
I'll be back once a full description is written up.

This is a really good idea. I had some commission work to done for the MC of my novel (more for personal reference than anything) and it certainly forced me to address details I wouldn't have normally.

Note, depending on the media though it may be a bad idea to make a clear distinction of all the characters image. Letting the reader decide how they see the character to some extent can help the draw. Think of how many books gone movies where people say: "That looks nothing like I imagined them!"

I mainly write Indie Games, so this would be useful, but it would be asking far too much.

Oh well.
