He's got a chair made out of those weird pin screen things we used to put our face in to see it get shaped like our face? Whatever they were called?
i'm looking forward to this film a lot but there's only so much i can really say about it until it comes out.
i have a distinct hunch i'll probably enjoy it a lot more than frozen.
Like a muthafuckin' boss
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Frozen wasn't bad per se, but I found it really generic and a huge waste of the potential of the source material. I don't know what people saw in it. That said I was in town recently and I saw two different little girls dressed as Anna, so I suppose it's nice if the actual target audience enjoyed it. I'm super looking forward to Big Hero 6 but yeah, not much to say until I've seen it and I'm being hyper-vigilant of spoilers.
I though Frozen was alright. Not bad or mediocre per say,but not a disney masterpiece or the greatest animated movie(I like Tangled more, but I think Wreck It Ralph is better than Tangled.I definitely think I'll enjoy BH 6 much better than Frozen.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013I really enjoyed Frozen, but I'm still very excited for Big Hero 6. I guess we'll see which one I like more once I've seen it.
Oh God! Natural light!I loved Wreck-It Ralph and I think it's interesting from a gender-marketing perspective. So many films have a pretty clear idea which demographic they're marketing to, and by and large it goes princesses and romance for girls, heroes and tech for boys. Intentional or not I liked how Wreck-It Ralph blurred that, there were plural important distinct female characters and it was largely set in a world of dazzling sugary pinkness but the main character was a hulking great ox and it was very action-driven. I couldn't confidently say whether it was targeted at one gender, or which it would be. I hope we get more non-binary stuff like that. Big Hero 6 looks like traditional "male" fare, but having more than one female team member and the emotional focus of the plot look like positive steps.
And I just read that it's not going to be released in the UK till next year. Now I'm sad.
this is more or less how i feel about it.
Beyond the hyperbole, Frozen is good. I enjoyed it. I'll enjoy this just as much. That is all.

why does Hiro's costume suddenly remind me of bad anime cosplay

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. Why?? ...dunno. I think it's convincing enough. As opposed to the other Disney costumes, Hiro cosplay is incredibly easy to assemble by yourself!

That's the thing. There's nothing truly outstanding in his Hiro costume- it looks exactly like any tumblnerds' cosplay especially considering they have an adult costuming as him.
Hiro's costume is so down to earth that it doesn't exactly stand out. They should have gone with his superpowered outfit instead.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. So I just picked up the Art of Big Hero 6 book (which is awesome, you all should check it out) and one of the most interesting things I found out was this passage.
Yes. Apparently infamous Marvel editor-in-chief Joe Quesada (this guy) actually came up with the base premise for the film. If this doesn't disprove the whole "Marvel vs Disney Animation blow up" argument, I don't think anything will.

That Moment when you realize Big Hero 6 is released in just one week!

What exactly are you thinking that disproves? Everything I've read (from the people who worked on the film) says that the falling out, such as it was, happened later in development.
The CBR article seemed focused on how Marvel was "disappointed" and "angered" with Disney over the idea that they refused to push the story to an older audience. This is apparently false as moments after publishing that piece, several of the people who worked on the film and even John Lasseter went on to discuss how helpful and supportive they've been in the development. Even the fourth trailer gives accreditation to the Marvel comics.
Really the only thing that even supports this supposed "divorce" is that Disney is making their own Big Hero 6 manga or comics tie-ins. Which is completely understandable- this is a Disney movie and Marvel comics is not their promotional tool.

i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apartEven a stopped clock is right twice a day. Not everything Quesada puts out is awful, just most of it. ;-)
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Yokai's pin-needle-things must have taken a HELL of a lot of a time and effort to animate.
They had to create an entirely new simulation program just to animate the microbots.
And a new lighting system to boot. And a crowd system...
