Apparantly these date back to 2008, but this is the first time any of them have been seen. This is not a Rickroll.

Oh that gorgeous, even if it's not true. (Though I'm not calling it either way)>

Thanks for posting those.

No problem. My theory is that with this new art release and meet the Pyro coming up, Valve's got some event planned. Perhaps this means the Pyro is Gordon Freeman?

Oh, so they finally learned to count to 3? Cool... if this is legit.

They're likely official but that doesn't mean anything. Four years old could be four years out of date. We don't have an official date on the game's release, and even if we did, it wouldn't be a guarantee.

I do like the art.

I remember seemingly a decade ago when there was concept art of the American Neon Genesis Evangelion film. Concept art really doesn't mean that much.

Ohdamnthatsgoodart.

Too bad that it could get pushed back so far that Valve ends up with it in Development Hell.

What is up with Valve and 3's? Seriously, we still have yet to see Episode 3, Half-Life 3, Portal 3, Team Fortress 3, and Left 4 Dead 3. Do they just not understand how to count? Maybe they need to watch Sesame Street some more. [lol]

I think it's more that they keep getting new projects around the time that number three goes into development.

Well, this is a good sign. Sure, it's from 2008, but a good sign, nonetheless!

Valve need to confirm this as true and pull their fingers out and finish the damned game already.

Its not like they haven't been doing other stuff.
Yeah a Half-Life with 3 in the title, whatever it'll end up being called, would be nice. However, I'm satisfied with what they've been doing in the meantime.

You may be, but I am not. Not in any way, shape, or bloody form. How many more supertanker lots of money from releasing other games companies games on Steam do Valve need to pile up before Gabe Newell is satisfied and stops jerking us around and end the sodding story?

Dude. Chill. Better games have waited longer for sequels. It hasn't actually been all that long. Really though, as long as they're doing stuff and making good games, its all good. If they went another couple years without saying anything, though, I'd probably agree with you.

Besides, you want to talk about getting yanked around? Be a fan of Mega Man Legends, or just a fan of Capcom in general.

[up]No thanks, I am not that much of a masochist. 8-) And I am pretty chilled about the lack of HL 2 E 3 compared to what I feel towards Actizard and their imminent gutting of World Of Warcraft.

I'm just fed up with the fucking AR Gs and leaks like this that go nowhere and just temporarily raise hopes before we return to the usual drudgery and Valve instead reveals that they're just announcing more hats.

There's only so many times that I'll be hyped about stuff only to be let down by more pointless crap.

There was a six year gap between HL 1 and 2. 9 years of development for Team Fortress 2. It's been about 4 and a half since Episode 2 and they said the finale was going to be much bigger than the episodes. I can afford to wait a little longer

Well, I don't really care for Portal, its sequel or Team Fortress in any of its incarnations. So, no, I will not be happy until HL 2 E 3 comes out no matter who shouts in my face and tells me to be so. Deal.

You know, I'm a long time valve fan so I'm used to this and I don't mind waiting for something high quality but at the same time I don't think the secrecy is necessary. They could just say "we're working on ep3\half life 3 here are a few details" and then release the game in 5 years or something, I don't mind that as long as I know they are actually dedicating time to making it.

:)
