ITT: Film Noir

-Staggers across the street on a rainy night, causing several cars screech to avoid me-

-Slumps in front of bar, one hand holding my chest, reaches up with other hand to touch the window-

-Finally falls onto my back with a deep gasp, dead. Hand falls away to reveal a stab to the heart. Lightning flashes and thunder crashes dramatically-

Why, yes, I have been watching a lot of trailers for Film Noir lately, what makes you ask that?

"It was the kind of cold drizzle that makes a man wish he could afford a better trenchcoat, or maybe just an umbrella. The neon sign over Lee's Liq or Bar sizzled as the raindrops hit it. In my hurry to get inside, I nearly missed the bleeding man on the sidewalk. Wish I had."

"The rain, it was raining harder tonight more then usual, maybe that was just me thinking. I didn't know what was ahead of me, when I saw the man looking over that body, this city was hard, but it was different to see it staring back at you in a pool of blood"

-Things just went from bad to worse. From one fire to another. My mark was supposed to be at the diner from 5-6:30, and I was supposed to drive up, take the cash, and leave. Now I just nearly ran over him - no briefcase in hand - as he staggered across the street with a frigging knife in his chest. Benny's gonna be ticked, dude.-

-Raining again. Always with the accursed rain. No matter. There is a murderer on the loose. And I have been called in to find him. Tonight's poor bastard was the lucky one. Or lucky as one can be to drag himself half a mile before dying. In fact rumor has it at the station that there was even a witness... -

"I went over to the bushes and pucked out my dinner, it stunk bad. I couldn't help myself, afterwards I tried to find a phone to call the cops, maybe they would listen."

-After I nearly ran down my dying target, I stopped the car and ran over to his side.-

"I'm pickup. Who did this?" I whispered to the target, due to the fact that there were too many people around. Not that it mattered, anyway. The guy was already dead and the knife gave it away. Only the Navers family was brazen enough to pull this kind of stunt in our part of the big city. I pull down my hat and pop the collar of my trench coat to hide my face, take the knife - not like a dead man's gonna need such things - and drive off.

-I watched from the the bushes-

"I saw a man take a knife from the body, then he drove off, I ran into the street and got his license plate number, then i got the payphone and called the police. I didn't think I would be a vigilante tonight."
