...I don't care how useful he is, fuck halfshift and the horrible exp leech it turns Volug into. I mean, if he acted as a normal Laguz in part 1, I might actually use him.

I wouldn't think experience leeching would be a huge problem here, everyone's going to have more than their fair share of work.
Besides, Volug's lowered halfshift stats actually made him perfect to feed kills to other people.
In all honesty I'd want him for his mobility more than combat.
ggggrrraurgh both wyverns is a pretty nice setup.

Only the sun has stopped.Hmm. I'll take Haar as my next pick, realizing that I need someone to help with part 2, and figuring that the penalties place him as the appropriate pick right about now.
A lot of it is that I feel that he becomes utterly useless into the stretch and has a very hard time leveling in part 1.
Besides, I have someone else in mind.

I need to continue playing my regular file for some personal experience of which Greil Mercs are most useful. I sense it's about that time. I have my biases, of course, but coincidentally they're the people I'm certain will be snapped up first.
-le gasp- gadzooks, the possibilities! shoving, like torchlighting, is not forbidden for undrafted units!
(note: I see absolutely zero problem with it, I just didn't notice earlier)

Only the sun has stopped.Well, shoving is among the main things I ever use Volug for.
edited 20th Jun '12 6:47:20 PM by Balmung
Indeed. Shoving, torchlighting, and the like is not on the list of forbidden actions.
I should point out that you're not allowed to deploy units that are neither drafted nor forced.
drat.
Only the sun has stopped.Balls. There goes my plan to use Haar, just standing around to hold the left flank on 2-E without actually doing anything.
:/
I wrote all this stuff out. I was not trying to mislead. :(
Not a problem, I just skipped over it I guess. I assumed most of the rules would be the same as the GBA drafts and we could take units onto the map provided they didn't do the stuff you listed. This is probably more consistent, not letting them come at all.
Only the sun has stopped. That's just kind of how I'd assumed it always was.
Since there's now a bunch of posts in between (my fault), a reminder that it's asterism's turn, in case he's waiting for someone else. I got confused and did that once in the FE 8 draft topic.
Only the sun has stopped.Bah, I was going to pick Leonardo.
Oh well. I'll pick Zihark, since doing Part 1 with just Micaiah, Sothe and Laura is probably a terrible idea.
Song of the SirensFUCK.

I didn't know Leonardo was going to be so popular.
Only the sun has stopped. With a Crossbow, he owns 3-13 so hard it's not funny.
And I've got to do 3-13 with a swordmaster, a rogue and a bishop. Hum. At least you get the two NPC generals on Easy mode.

Song of the SirensThose Generals are crazy OP, at the very least.
I did quite want Zihark, though, but I do still have a backup backup plan.
montago didn't read the rules properly again, nothing to see here.

This post was thumped by the Eldritch Flyswatter of Horror
So, Asterism's just picked, right? Is so, My next pick is Volug.

Meg 'cause I need some part 1 defense and Mia so that now I'm picking a good swordmaster out from under you guys.
Also, by taking Aran and Meg, I'm fairly sure that I've claimed about 80% of the physical defense utility from Micaiah's chapters.

If I didn't already have Edward I'd be upset but that just made my choice easier and now there's one less set of transfers I'll mourn the absence of.
Still though......Mia shall work twice as hard in my Normal game!
Only the sun has stopped.
In that case I will pretend not taking Volug was an act of mercy.
Realizing now, on the topic of wolf laguz, just how much I had Nailah do on 1-8 and 1-E, second-guessing myself already.
