Gosh, we've been getting a lot of Boys' Love works flagged...
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. From what I know of it, the cast are all adults, and the plot revolves around mafia stuff, but all my information is second hand.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI don't think we need to worry about pedo stuff. Here's the main chatacters, and they're all adults.
We'll need someone who's played this to say if it's just porn, but considering it has a story about the mafia, we probably don't need to worry about that too much.
From what I can see, it seems mostly motivated by plain old prejudice.
Anyway, never played it nor plan to. However, quick Google search and Visual Novel Database looking indicates there is no child character at all. Heck, as far I can see there is not even teen character either. Even the most bishonen of the guys is clearly adult.
Also, Google image search had mostly images from this series for at last 9 pages. Yet, even with the safe search off, I haven't seem any risky nudity*.
At a first glance, it really seems safe to me. At very last, I doubt it can be called porn.

Checking out the page, I'll say one thing: Japanese writers seem to have no skill thinking up convincing names for members of the Mafia.

HodorThis is a rude generalization. Many Japanese writers can think in good foreigners names, and Lucky Dog 1 is not even that bad in that aspect (Death Note, for one, is very shitty in that aspect).
Also, I would love to see you (or even a famous western writer) to come up with convincing names for the Yakuza.
Any way to get a free copy? I can check it out. It'll take me a bit due to tons of hours, but...
Also, let's not get off-topic, please. The naming stuff is not related to this.
Quest 64 threadSelf-thump.

Sorry, shouldn't have posted off-topic.
Don't really have anything on-topic except that at least in the description it doesn't sound particularly troublesome.
HodorIt seems safe on the pedo pandering front. I'll go check and find if I can find a cg gallery of it.
Okay, back. There is indeed explicit sex. However, it didn't seem as though there were that many scenes. I think based on the cg gallery there were probably around half a dozen sex scenes and then there were a bunch of background cgs and stuff. For a visual novel that's really not that many when you consider that there are multiple story lines in most visual novels.
I think this work is okay unless I am missing something.

I found the manga version of it online. That seems very plot heavy and it squares up with the tropes on the page. If that's the case, then it's got far too much plot to be pure porn.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickLooking at CG gallery, yeah, there's explicit sex, but relatively little compared to other H-Games. Quite a few non-porn CG's. Definitely no pedo stuff.
Well, Manga sounds fine, then.
Visual Novel is another story. How many CG's have the characters and aren't explicit?
Quest 64 threadA lot of the ones I can find. This one◊ is of an alley.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOkay. That means that unless somebody plays the game itself, it doesn't appear to be porn.
This obviously may change.
Quest 64 threadThis is background scenery, though. Not what you usually mean when you say 'CG' in a Visual Novel context. Even mostly porn Visual Novels have tons of background scenery. You can't really have a Visual Novel without these.
Fine how about this guy with a gun◊, two guys in a car◊, or these two guys just looking badass◊. I can get more.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickFair enough.
The mere existence of story CG are a good indicator of the Visual Novel being primary not porn, I believe. Aside the voices, the CG are likely the most expensive part of the work. So if the company bothered to make non-sex CG it is because the story is the focus (the sex CG are there, then, mostly to ensure the product is profitable).
Yeah, Heatth spoke of what I meant.
I meant stuff besides Backgrounds and explicit scenes. That's generally what we need to see to make sure it's not porn.
Quest 64 threadGotcha. I found them. I can get more, I just don't like doing link dumps. I've found a larger number of different non-porn C Gs than porn ones, but I find the same porn ones more often. Welcome to the internet I guess.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickNot many background shots I've found. Apparently people think they're boring and don't screenshot them much. CGs are easier to find as are really long plot summaries. About 4:2:1 ratio with the CGs with 4 being non-porn/non-romance, 2 being romance but not porn and 1 being porn. Most of the non-porn/non-romance involving violence, action, or people generally being awesome.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWell, ratio-wise, definitely not porn.
All we need is to make sure the plot matches up in the Visual Novel, and an informed decision can be made.
Quest 64 threadYeah, what I'm finding on it shows it to be Plot with Sex and the manga adaptation is Plot with more Plot and hasn't even really had fanservice having read through half of it so far.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. Dick
I didn't see anything about it in the post-links thread, so I'm going to do the same old song and dance in asking visual novel fans to let us know what's up with Lucky Dog 1 as far as porn and/or pedo-pandering is concerned.
Thanks in advance!
