Yeah, it feels like they introduced the third girl way too fast.
It's a romcom, if you are not introduced in the first chapter you stand no chance.
Hey, not true! Take that… girl… in that series… somewhere… oh come on, a non-first-chapter girl must have won in at least one series. è__é
Ah well, they do stand a chance… with a supporting character.
The World God Only Knows has the winning girl be the ...6th? 7th? 8th? girl introduced. They do highlight how different she is from the other girls, though, so she has plenty of winning chances.
Hmm… That's one of those series I keep telling myself I have to read but never do… You've piqued my interest.
Now that I think of it, Ano Kiss has Izumi winning over Chiharu despite being introduced quite late and the latter initially loving someone else… but that's a yuri series, and one based on separate mini-arcs, so it probably doesn't count.

Its been so long but was Hinata introduced in the first chapter of Naruto?
Also Dr. Stone. Just... Dr. Stone.
…Nope, Hinata was introduced in volume 4 or 5 I think?
Dr Stone is the best new series so far, IMO.
Watch Symphogearthis, easily. I want it and Poro to be the ones that survive.
It's Adam and Steve, not Adam and Eve!
Anyway, someone said that the release order might be how Jump editors expect the new series to survive. The first three are from new or relatively unknown mangaka, and the latter three are from established ones.
Just read Dr. Stone.
My first throught was two guys being called Adam and Eve was a recent videogame with two twin brother robots actually named Adam and Eve.
Also it tugged at my heart seeing those cute puppies become savage.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. Was I seriously the only one that was interested in U19? The premise sounded nice, so I wanted to at least give it a full story arc before I dropped it.
It's the one I'm the least interested in thus far.
Man, Shokugeki no Soma is jumping all over the rankings.
I wonder when the first of the new series will get dropped.
Well, we'd need rankings for them first. And I think it'll be a while before a new series comes in to force one out.
The series are first ranked after 8 chapter right?
Also, doesn't Jump usually launch more than six new series a year?
Correct. Typically a new series is launching just as the first of the last round start getting ranked. However, they put so many series at once this time that We Never Learn will be ranked the issue after Robot x Laserbeam starts.
It's typically 2-3 series every round, but the sheer size of this round is giving me pause as to what comes after.
Well, it's a new era, clearly. They're going full throttle to compensate for the loss of all their old heavyweights these last few years. I don't think they have ever lost so many at once before.
They lost most of their heavy hitters over the last two years or so, didn't they? So they are no looking really hard to fill in the space left.
If someone in future will write an Shonen Jump history book, 2017 will probably be counted as the first year of a new era for Jump.
I'd say the latter half of 2016 counts too, as The Promised Neverland seems on its way to become a regular in the top 5.
Not sure where we should put stuff like My Hero Academia and Black Clover in all that though… a transition period?
Probably. Black Clover especially seems like it was custom made to fill in the niche left by Naruto end. It even started just two months after the letters ended.
Not fond of the opening chapter of Laserbeam. None of the characters appeal to me.
I'm willing to see more of Hungry Marie, so I hope it does well.
Laserbeam is competent, but not interesting. Kinda biased because I get bored by golf.
We Never Learn starts in 4th, U19 in 12th.
So the new girl from WNL is:
Sorry, she's a loser from the get go.
