There was also that Transforormers crossover.
Smartest person in the world, OK, but universe? I dunno. Even so, precocious as she is, I doubt she's got the capacity to handle the same problems as Tony Stark or Amadeus Cho without getting a few years under her belt, unless they're talking purely in the mathematical sense.

I was set to make a joke about the Power Grid having to be adjusted but Lunella's not on the character list yet.

She'll have these guys and girls to compete with too.

My only real concern about this idea is that it might get debunked or retconned in another book somewhere down the line, like if/when Reed comes back to the Marvel Universe or the latest edition of the Marvel Handbook gets released.
Of course, being smart and being wise are two different things, and I like the angle they're going for with Lunella wanting recognition and getting it in the worst way possible.

The Protomen enhanced my life.I hate how they do X New character is best at Y better than anyone who came before. Just sell them to me on their own. they don't have to be the best/smartest/strongest/whatever. especailly when the person is a literal kid. But I mean Pym, Reed, and Banner are all gone so not much of a list is it? you got Beast who was dumb enough to fuck time, you got Iron Doom, you got Cho. Don't know what will happen to Tony. And then there is T'Challa who has a lot on his plate right now.
Even then, they're all focus on different fields of expertise. There's things one of them can do that others among them can't.
I'm not overly concerned about Lunella losing her spot as the smartest because, well, it doesn't really matter. For all that some people are reacting as though Marvel is shitting on every other genius character, this is a kid-friendly book telling a fairly standard kid story, but placed within the Marvel Universe. "Child is smartest person alive" isn't a new idea. Lunella isn't even the younger character to get that distinction at Marvel - Valeria Richards has repeatedly been described as being smarter than her father, and she's not even 5 years old.
But in the case of Moon Girl, it's an all-ages book. Kids will enjoy the fact that this little black girl is smarter than all the old white dudes. That the young audience the book is aimed at will enjoy this story is what really matters.
And if, in two years, a writer comes along in another book and debunks it? Whatever. The kids who read Moon Girl will still have enjoyed the story they read. If some middle-aged white dude absolutely needs to establish that a middle-aged white dude is the smartest person who has ever lived or will ever live, that's his hang-up.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.I'm fine with Lunella being the smartest person on Earth. because come on, with all the incredibly advanced aliens out there, the smartest person of the universe can't be an Earthling. this is another example of writers totally lacking a sense of scale. Earth is not the center of the universe, damnit.
...ok technically it was remade as Eternity's heart but still. shhh. there are aliens SO advanced, they don't even care about whoever lives in there and are probably having mind-blowing adventures somewhere in the omniverse.
@ Hambuger Time: You may have a point. The current Marvel continuity is regarded as a new multiverse. The thing is that as shown with the M'kron crystal in an X-Men universe, Galactus' reality was a lot like the current one, so the Living Tribunal we've seen could've been a version of a superhero. Perhaps he's the Spiderman of the previous universe. Maybe it explains this quote by him: "With great power comes great responsibility and little happiness."
@Mechs: Ultron pretty much built one in the final pages of Conquest before he was killed by Warlock and Phyla. Doom also has some protecting his castle.
speaking of mechs, Transformers apparently made their own version of Thor and Hulk◊ at one point.
I had a thought-what if we see or hear mention of Lunella in the movies and shows? Not too many new characters get to do that except ones that were created for them.

The Protomen enhanced my life.she could certainly work as a recurring character in the SHIELD series. they'd love to investigate on a new Inhuman kid who tamed a mutant dinosaur! or they could throw her in Luke Cage or Iron Fist. Little Miss Badass teaming up with the Heroes for Hire. that'd work too.
Going off the interview I think they thought up Lunella being THE smartest when they realized how much they enjoyed having her one-up Amadeus Cho, the eighth smartest person in the world, and decided 'let's go all the way' XD;
She's a threat to off-worlders, too, with the Kree Empire giving her a 100% threat rate.
The Protomen enhanced my life.I haven't been reading her series (though I meant pick it back up), but I'd guess that while she might not have the experience that people like Tony have, once she does, there won't be any disputing who's smarter.
Though I doubt we'll ever see that, unless we get to see a future version of her, which is always a possibility.
Oh God! Natural light!I haven't picked up her title but the thought of Amadeus Cho getting intellectually teabagged by a child is giving me so much delicious retributive schadenfreude that I might have to pick it up just for that. Never has an egotistical genius-wanker deserved it more.
I, uh...I've never liked Cho. <.<
Eh, maybe. It depends on how big she gets. Like, Cho gets to wank off about how he's the most brilliant and clever mind ever to exist in his own comic, but he rarely even shows up outside of it. When all the biggest brains assemble in other books, Cho tends to not get an invite. Because he's obnoxious and only really liked by a niche audience.
Lunella can go either way, depending on how much her writer shoves "SMARTEST PERSON EVER, WAY SMARTER THAN YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER" in the faces of readers. She could be the next Tony Stark, Peter Parker, or Reed Richards. But she could just as easily be the next Cho. It's all in the execution.
If she wants a seat at that table, she just needs to be endearing rather than obstinately confrontational when interacting with the mainstays. More "Hey, I thought of this thing you guys missed," and less "Pfft, I'm so brilliant, you established characters are all obnoxious morons compared to my awesomeness!" The latter might give some fans a bit of catharsis, but thirty years from now, the A-Listers will still be here. Getting along with them is good for fostering long-term popularity.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.The current list(not counting her or the missing Richards family) is The Maker, Doom, T'Challa, Stark, Parker, Cho and?
With Banner and Pym dead, Reed and Valeria missing etc the list is very different from pre-SW.
Does Sinister belong on it?
Over in New Avengers, The Maker just got intellectually curbstomped by Roberto da Costa. Like, it is HUMILIATING how outfoxed he was in every possible capacity. Either Bobby belongs on the list or Alt!Reed doesn't.
Reed Richards left some big shoes to fill, intellectually. His counterpart might not be up to the task.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Bobby should've always been on the list. He might not have the brains to build a world destroying mech but he has friends and co-workers that can fill the gaps he isn't able to do on his own. Hell, his "phone a friend" is much better than any of the "proper" Avengers teams can do because he has friends all over 616(not just Avengers) and New Mutants help their old friends.
I hope Ewing gets to do a New Mutants reunion book when the movie is about to come out.

Being able to contact allies to fill the gaps you can't is very useful for a superteam leader, but doesn't seem particularly relevant to the question, "Who is the most intelligent person in the Marvel Universe?"
Like, Spider-Man also has contacts all over the Marvel U but I wouldn't rank him as physically stronger than the Hulk because of it either. He's got the resources to win a fight with the Hulk, but Hulk's still going to win at arm-wrestling.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Since other super-smart people are either dead or indisposed currently it might be a way of both sides getting what they want—she's the smartest person on earth until further notice XD;
The Protomen enhanced my life.Specifically, I'm calling Bobby's victory an intellectual curbstomp because he didn't just beat the Maker. He's beaten the Maker in every way imaginable. He beat him in intel, he beat him in resources, he beat him in planning and preparation. Despite his intellectual credentials and constant monologuing about them, the Maker has walked blindly into a trap that is annihilating every facet of his organization. He hasn't just been defeated, he's been thoroughly and completely outsmarted.
Bobby actually won the chess match rather than flipping the board and punching the Maker, as so many heroes who prevail over intellectual villains typically do. And given that he didn't even know who he was playing against, he did it blindfolded.
It's like moving from high school to college. Welcome to the 616, Alt Reed. You can't even outwit the New Mutants. Clearly, our standards are much higher than you're used to.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.also, isn't Beast incredibly smart as well? there's a reason Spidey goes to get his opinion on crazy stuff sometimes. (the latest example being in Amazing Grace)
Preview for Champions #1. The art works really well and Waid writes Kamala really well.
Of course the Maker is outmatched.
This isn't the Ultimate Universe. A world just born, where most of its heroes are dead & weaker, where the smartest guy is just Antonio Stark.
Maker is now officially with the big boys & is now in an ocean, not a pond.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
