I don't really know myself, but I do know that the 'Marvel Hates X-Men&FF' crowd are going to have a field day with this.
According to Brevoort, it's a licensing thing.
More realistically, Marvel's merchandising division doesn't want to promote characters owned by Fox. That's not a secret. Brevoort even acknowledged it a while ago.
What needs to be remembered is that the merchandising division is separate from the publishing division. The people convinced this means Marvel won't publish Fantastic Four any more, or that they're trying to ruin the X-Men, are still idiots.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Licensing is very strange sometimes.
Actually, wait. Brevoort's post was about the Secret Wars t-shirt removing the X-Men and Fantastic Four, not the new thing.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Apparently Captain Monica was removed too?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI assume if they can't put their likeness on a t-shirt, they can't make statues out of them.
I also assume they removed Monica Rambeau Captain Marvel so that people wouldn't confuse her for Carol Danvers Captain Marvel.
Le sigh. I really hope Marvel and FOX work things out, this is not beneficial for anyone. Not the studios and definitely not the fans. I mean, the F4 reboot apparently drove Josh Trank insane.
Hee◊.
It is such a crime that Monica was created in the 80's. If she had been created today and given mostly the same character arc and treatment, she'd be so much more popular.
She's still around, though. What's she going by now?
Spectrum, last I checked.
She's in the Mighty Avengers. She gave Reed Richards the biz. She can blow up planets maybe?
Edit: Actually, here's the real tragedy of Monica Rambeau: She's had her codename stolen by Genis-Vell twice. He took Captain Marvel from her and when she changed to Photon, he took that too.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersTo be fair, having him do it the second time, by accident, was kinda funny. It's just a shame that it officially cast her into the "too many codenames for anyone to keep straight" camp.
Also, can Genis-Vell come back as a villain? I think a guy who blew up the universe over his daddy issues is pretty solid archnemesis material.

I prefer to think of her as Monica Rambeau.
I'd like to see Genis-Vell take that from her.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3."Hello again, Monica"
"Genis-Vell!"
"Please, call me by my new name... Spectrum."
"... Oh you son of a bitch"
Maybe if we all eat our vegetables Marvel gives her a Solo Series after EW written by Ewing ?
"You can reply to this Message!"Here's hoping; Ewing seems like he might be pushing for exactly that.
So I just learned ''this'' was a thing.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYeah, those old comics had all kinds of weird—
What do you mean, 2009?! *sigh* Goddammit, guys.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I remember reading that, wasn't that bad actually.
"You can reply to this Message!"Unfortunately, Marvel sometimes has a misstep between their marketing/covers and the actual content. The content would seem to be good and inoffensive, while the covers...
...well, have you see the covers for the Emma Frost series? Yeah. The actual story was about her as a teenager.

I'd be excited that Marvel seems to have a sorta-kinda-not-really equivalent to the Birds of Prey except Divas is a terrible name for a team.
And also they're not even a team.
Friendship is nice too though.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersActually, their equivalent of Birds of Prey was Fearless Defenders. And it was awesome, but also cancelled.
So why did it get cancelled?
