Forever liveblogging the AvengersOr because it's post secret wars. And things are obviously different to some degree
But more likely because symbolism.
Secret Wars is unlikely to actually result in any major status quo changes. In fact, the one preview we have - the Free Comic Book Day issue - suggests the post-Secret Wars set-up will be pretty similar to the pre-Secret Wars set-up. There's Captain Falcon and Lady Thor still being around and dialogue shows that Wasp was still the one who came up with the Avengers name. Those two things indicate very little will actually be changed.
And honestly, nothing from Rage of Ultron has anything to do with Secret Wars. None of it. When Remender wrote the story, he ignored Secret Wars entirely. He didn't care if his story came before or after Secret Wars, or how it fit the chronology, or any of it. He wrote a story he thought would be good. He had Pym and Ultron merge because of symbolism. That's it, that's all, trying to read something else into it is pointless. It has nothing to do with anything changing after Secret Wars, and everything to do with Remender wanting to tell what he felt was the best version of the story, and that story required a certain ending, and that ending required certain liberties be taken.
It's the same sort of thing that writers have been doing from the start. Even Lee and Kirby did that. It's a standard part of Marvel. Writers ignore minor continuity details in favour of making for a better story. Some people get pissed off about it, most people don't really care.
So no, it doesn't work differently as a result of Secret Wars. It works differently because that specific story needed it to work differently in that specific moment. It'll go back to working normally after this, until the next time a writer needs a different result from normal.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics. When did Vision get his density powers back? Last I read, he was a Vision-shaped collection of tiny Vision-shaped nanomachines.
Which I did not like.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAlso, nobody knows if Rage of Ultron takes place post-Secret Wars. Somebody said, "This makes no sense if it takes place before Secret Wars" and then somebody else said "So it must take place after," without any confirmation from Marvel writers or editors.
So far, they have been mum on when it takes place. So who knows.
In other knews, Master of Kung Fu was fucking awesome. Everybody should read it.
Remender said it took place post secret wars and there was an interview where they clarified it was post secret wars
And yeah masters of Kung fu was great. Best book of the week
Really? I missed that, can you point me to the interview.
Master of Kung Fu is ridiculously awesome. In fact, all of the Secret Wars books so far have been really good. I'm already buying too many and I'm going to buy M.O.D.O.K. Assassin, too, which looks awesome as well.
It seems like all the writers and artists are like, "We can go crazy? LET'S GO CRAZY!"
Yeah, I'm going to stick with an actual interview, not a screenshot of an email.
"When did Vision get his density powers back? Last I read, he was a Vision-shaped collection of tiny Vision-shaped nanomachines."
Yeah, that change was never going to stick. I actually did like it, but it was impossible that it was going to last long, because it's not the Vision's classic power set, and characters always have to be the same way they were in the '60s.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Ok I did go back and see that interview and it was coy about the answer, but its pretty obviously set post secret wars considering what happens at the end.
Though it also means we got two Avenger teams already coming out of Secret Wars.
Stella ~Part 3 (Atelier Shallie)we have 3 right now though. and besides rage could take place in the 8 month gap between then end of secret wars and the start of new mu
Even ignoring that it pretty much has to be post-SW, since it really doesn't fit anywhere else in the timeline. Pym showed up just before the big Earth-Shattering Kaboom as Yellowjacket with absolutely no mention of Ultron, and as a few sites pointed out, they speak as though the new Thor has already been with the team for a while and is an accepted member of the group, when she hasn't even officially joined them in the current books.
The other part of course is Jan being out and about instead of being held captive wherever Havok took her off to at the end of AXIS.

yeah that too. like it could take place in the 8 months before secret wars but it makes more sense for it to be after.
Jan is off the radar captive somewhere?
Life has not been kind to her recently.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersStill inverted Alex kidnapped her and made her use pym particles to shrink him away from the heroes. he then met up with scott. we dont know what happened to jan. but shes dead now anyway so the point in mute.
Can Hank and Jan be taken away and given to a different writer?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersEverything dies, baby that's a fact, and maybe everything that dies, someday comes back. Put your makeup on, fix your hair up pretty, and meet me tonight in Atlantic City...
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I read the second volume of Time Runs Out and now I'm wondering why Sunspot isn't a member of the All-New All-Different Avengers. Guy deserves it, he's the only one in that story who has his head on straight.
because all mutants are going to be moving to another planet because terrigen mists are killing them. (this is an actual theory going around)
How would that even work? Humans would still have new mutant children. Who would die. It's not a good solution and the time and effort it'd take would be better served getting rid of those mists.
You're expecting logical thinking from the people who run Marvel?
By now, it should be clear to all except the most dense of us that sheep are secretly conspiring to kill us all and steal our pants.
Yeah, but it works this time because symbolism.
