[up][up]Nintendo still owns the license as far as I know, they just let Platinum release the game on any platform.

Gamespot gave the game a 4/10, while IGN gave it a 9/10. XD! Am I in some alternate timeline right now?

[up][up]The only time Nintendo is mentioned is when mentioning the Switch though. All copyright is PG.

The game's been released, and a couple of websites have some reviews:

Rock Paper Shotgun unfortunately has the complaint that even despite the use of a mouse, attempting to draw the shapes necessary to activate the Wonderful 101's powers can be spotty at best; they actually found it easier to use a gamepad. No complaints about hardware or performance issues, at least.

So, how is it? Is it worth buying for my Switch?

This is Polygon's take.

Basically? Nothing's changed: so if you liked or disliked the game back during it's in initial release in 2013, your opinion now probably won't be any different.

Watched a few clips of the Remastered version since I can't buy the game yet, and now I'm wondering how much of the music is confirmed to be redone

Because the main vocal theme was definitely given an overhaul and it sounds even better

I never played the game outside of a store demo for a few seconds, but watching a Let's Play of the game by Chip Cheezum REALLY made me appreciate it a lot more. now than I did then.

I just love how it keeps getting bigger and it KNOWS it's getting bigger. And I love the chemistry between the good guys and bad guys. Laambo isn't just a Large Ham, he's Large Ham with extra bacon on the side. ("I came looking for combatants, not color-coordinated cosplayers!") And having Roger Craig Smith voicing Wonder Blue could NOT have been a coincidence.

And yeah, "diplomacy has failed us!" is never not going to be a hilarious line.

EDIT: Platinum released a series of TW101-themed virtual backgrounds for Zoom (and other online conference apps)!

replayed the first mission yesterday.

It controls worse than I remember it to, but I also remember getting the hang of the game takes a solid two or three operations. That, and I'm lacking a lot of the tools I had when everything in the wonder mart was bought. Just need to rebuy the basic upgrades and good old ukemi.

Operation 6-B is still one of the best parts of the game for being the first time the game truly does drop the comical facade and actually takes itself entirely seriously. The fact that it also marks Blue's character development after beign a pain in the ass for like five operations is also pretty damn refreshing.

Now I'm split between replaying the old operations to get all the stuff I couldn't get on the first go and watch the last third of the game which is where the game takes after operation 6-B and then just keeps going further and further. Damn.

So am I to understand that outside of different controls due to the difference between Wii U and Switch, there's not much new added to this version of the game then?

Would you say that playing the Wii U version is the same experience as playing the Switch version?

yes. If anything, I have a better time on wiiU because consulting a guide to check I'm not missing anything on level completion doesn't take me to alt tab every time, but that's very me thing. It's really just a port of the game.

Ok then. I'll stick with finishing the Wii U version and not worry about getting the Switch one.
