You can make a bridge again?

Well, either way, I'll kill him and take his power.

Yeah. You can build ladders up building and bridges across gaps. Some things you can't ladder, but there are other ways to climb.

So two questions:

1) How do I use Wonderful(Unite?)Stinger again? It's not in the instructions, and I'm not sure how else to do it (or even who can use it)

2) How do I get Unite Rocket to work? I don't understand the instructions for it.

1: Back, Forward, and then A just after hitting forward. You should be able to see the skills available for each morph in the Skills menu, if you've leveled up enough people to learn skills for that morphnote

2: Rapidly mash the jump button until you become a rocket, keep mashing to charge, and stop mashing to launch.

So wow. It's been a whole year since I was on this. I got caught up on other stuff and gave it a break. I just recently beat Xenoblade Chronicles X and decided to start this again.

So I erased my previous file and opted to start completely fresh.

I know no-one is even playing this anymore, but I'll still keep track of what I'm doing until I get up to where I was before. Hopefully I'll be able to hold on to what I remembered from before and fair better this time.

Myeah, the game isn't bad. In fact, it's quite the ride. Just not the kind of ride you want to get on over and over again.

Well, I'm hoping to finish it now that I got time again.

By the way, now that I'm back on this again, what abilities should I be investing in right away when I get enough money? I think I got some advice on that during my first play through, but I can't really re-call what it was.

I'd say the skills that let you dodge and block. Whichever those were again. It's been a while.

Unite Spring and Unite Sponge I think they were called.

Anyway, I have those. Two of the first ones I bought. Anything else?

Nah, from there on out it's mostly just personal judgement.

So not only did I catch up to where I was before, I beat that level (though I had to look it up online to do it).

This game is still fun as hell. I love the failure cutscenes for when you fail the Quick Time Events. Never has getting your hero swatted like a fly been so entertaining.grin

I wish it hadn't taken me so long to get back on it.

Anyway, I'm in uncharted Territory now (Goh Goojin is where I left off on my last play through and I just beat him), so things will be interesting.

Been playing more of this. Got Wonder Yellow, and Wonder White, and beat their corresponding levels.

Loved the Fist fight between Red and Blue. Especially when their both just a mass of black eyes and bruises (why am I even spoiling this? No one is playing anymore).

It's really a shame this bombed. I think they had something here.

It may have not sold huge (Wii U game, what can one expect, right?), but there may be hope for its future. After the release, Kamiya responded to some random dud on Twitter who asked how he felt about the game being a failure (classy, Twitter dude), and his response was basically that he doesn't consider it to be one, and was happy to have made it. So who knows what the future holds?

Man, now I want to play the game again.

On the subject of buying stuff? Make sure to get the Hero Time custom block (and possibly Ukemi) as soon as it becomes available. That won't be until chapter 6 or so, but it's a very powerful defensive tool. Also, think hard about whether or not you actually want Unite Drill Spring when it becomes available. Being able to damage enemies with your dodge is cool, but it also means enemies can block (and thereby stop) your dodge.

Thanks.

Hero time eh? I've been reluctant to get Skills that use up the Unite Gauge too much (out of fear of it running out when I need it and then needed to fill it), but if it's good enough I'll keep it in mind.

The Drill sounds useful, so I'll keep it in mind. A way to quickly get up to the enemy and attack is way too valuable.

What abilities and stuff would you recommend beyond the ones you mentioned? What to make sure I'm getting the best stuff possible.

Hero Time doesn't use up the Unite Gauge. Well, not by itself. It's an added property to your Unite Spring (dodge) that activates if you dodge just before you would get hit.

Other essentials... Unite Charge is a very good early-game Custom Block. It lets you, by holding the Unite Morph Attack button down for a short time, add more heroes to your current Unite Morph and increase its size again, without needing to re-draw it. It uses up the gauge as if you did, but it's a very nice way to quickly get back up to full size.

Speed Liner and Attack Liner make your Wonder Liner draw faster, and cause damage to enemies if the line connects with them, respectively.

I can't remember what it's called (might've been "energy Charge", or something), but there's a Custom Block that makes it so that if you gain health in excess of your maximum, the excess is funneled into your Unite energy, and vice versa (some skills, like Attack Liner, can get you back some Unite energy by hitting the enemy, so...)

And of course, you should buy the additional unite morphs and upgrades when you can. One of them turns your block into a retaliatory attack by making the pudding sprout spikes upon getting hit. High priority should be placed on Unite Tombstone. It's basically a Ground Pound attack that lets you swiftly damage an enemy that you're juggling and drop to the floor at the same time, so you can easily set up another air combo. Another priority is Unite ball. You use it by double-tapping your dodge, and it's basically a dash button that doesn't require you to put your Unite Morph away. After those two, look into Unite rocket. It's not much of a battle technique, but it acts as a super high jump button, allowing you to reach secrets.

I can't remember what stuff unlocks in what chapters, but that's most of the useful and important stuff.

If stuff seems really expensive, remember that one of the items you can mix using the peppers, carrots, and eggplants is a credit card that allows you to buy a single item for free.

Finally, make sure you're swapping out your leader heroes on occasion, to level them all up. All your heroes gain experience as you fight, but the leader gets more, and the more heroes you level up, the more battle techniques you learn for the associated unite morph.

I pretty much have all of those (though I forgot I bought Unite Tombstone, and I can never get Unite Rocket to work).

Seems I'm mostly good. I even found out about the Free Card thing (I made two a while back).

Seems I'm mostly good. Though I can only use about three custom block items at a time it seems. Is there a way to put on more?

Edit: No wait. I don't have Unite Charge yet. I need to get that it seems.

To use Unite Rocket, you need to repeatedly mash the jump button quickly. Eventually, they'll turn into a rocket. Keep mashing to charge the rocket up, and release to launch upward based on how long you mashed.

To get more Custom Blocks, you need to level up your heroes some more. You get more as your number of leveled up heroes increases. The bar under the Custom Block equip menu is your overall EXP bar for heroes. It tracks all heroes you can unlock, so discovering, recruiting, and levelling up new heroes will help with that.

Also to note: Unite Drill Spring is a trap. While it has uses, it's horrible against armoured enemies. like the Turtles or the Wyverns. Hitting them with it gets your entire team knocked out, so it's best not to use it.

I see.

Or maybe, just don't use it against Armoured Enemies.

Either way, I'll keep that in mind.

As for using more guys, that's useful as well. Truth be told, I default to Unite Sword a lot (long reach) and don't use the other weapons to fight enemies all that much.

One more thing: Is there a quick way to get a new leader besides tapping their icon on the Gamepad, or drawing their weapon? I hate when I'm using one weapon, need to switch to another, and then find I'm getting my ass kicked while trying (or that the enemy hits me just as I switch).

I also suck at using stuff like the stinger or combo moves (I still can't do it for most of the heroes which is an issue when I need to get close to an enemy quickly).

I tried to play the game again after a long time away from it. Long story short, I wish I was having as much fun with the game as you were, Rob. Each section of each level just infuriates me more than the last.

I wanted to at least finish the game, but in all likelihood I'm probably just gonna sell it.

to be fair, I restarted in order to re-learn everything.

I also chose to play on easy as well in order to avoid getting stumped like that.

Double Post:

Still trying to level up heroes so I can use more stuff in the Custom block, but not having much luck.

What's a good way to do it?
