What Kept You? is also not thriving—only 4 inbounds. I think we could benefit if we merged them both under a new name.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerWow, yeah, they are both underperforming. Ouch.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I support a merge. Some of the examples are already on both pages as well.
I do like the name Redundant Rescue, though. It does describe the trope rather well.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Crownered up.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerCalling crowner. Merge under Redundant Rescue.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerMerged except for these Zero Context Examples:
- Played completely seriously in Shrek: The Final Chapter.
- It's been around since The Ransom Of Red Chief, which makes it Older Than Radio.
- Happens to Diana in an episode of White Collar.
Will try to get to the wicks ASAP. Didn't do much to the description, so if anyone thinks it needs to be different, feel free.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Okay, merge done. I'll wait a day to see if someone has any info on those zero context examples or any feedback, then close this up.

Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
Redundant Rescue is an odd little trope. Very small for its notional scope, it appears on its face to be a duplicate of What Kept You?.
Having been around since at least January, to go by the edit history, it has a mere 14 work wicks and 3 inbounds. In short, it is not thriving and is probably a duplicate.
Now, I wouldn't be averse to merging What Kept You? with this one, since What Kept You? has a dialog title and could be a rename candidate on that basis. But as it is, I see no point in having a separate trope.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
