Suggestion: Gunpoint Banter

The current image does not illustrate the trope, as it does not convey the dialogue is taking place. That's why I've made a new one.. It's from Sluggy Freelance, and shows an expository conversation occurring in the middle of a Mexican Standoff. Can I replace the old image with it? Comparison (current above, suggestion below):

It's alright, but I'd like to see another option or two.

I prefer the current image — banter is heavily implied, and the focus is clear and all. I find it hard to make out the guns in the suggstion.

How is the banter implied? I'm not familiar with the work, so all I see is a Mexican Standoff. It could be completely silent, for all I know.

I don't like the mismatched panel sizes. Plus, it's cluttered. Not a fan of the Sluggy Freelance.

Agree that current is weak.

I can't even tell those SF guys are on opposite sides. They look like they're both shooting at the same people.

Not a fan of either the current or the suggestion, especially not the suggestion. As mentioned above, it's much too crowded, plus the example seems to be a spoiler (just going by the fact that the example on the page contains one, so I might be off about this). Keep Until Better Image Suggested

For now, the best I could come up with was a screencap◊ of the Family Guy example. At least this one clearly shows one of the characters talking. The conversation is "Maybe we should get new roommates. — Maybe we should." which could work as a caption. That being said, a more serious example would be better I think.

while the text could be bigger, the content of their speech bubbles isn't really important here. I like it. If you want to do something about the legibility, maybe you could cut the last panel and then the other two on the bottom could be bigger?

I like that. Not to be too nitpicky, but could you slap on a few black pixels as a frame? I like it when comic book images have them.

I prefer 14 because 12.3 has a slight difference in art style between the two panels, but it's no big deal.

14 gets everything across in one panel, while highlighting some of the absurdity of the situation. I like that one.

I can live with 14.
