Man has it been that long already? E-3 sounds like it will be interesting this year.
Who watches the watchmen?Oooh I like these classes.
You can play as a reporter/journalist, a cop, or even a suit working for a big-time corporation.
I hope the story & abilities are very unique & different for each class.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."You can be pretty sure they will be.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.I want to be a well-suited katana wielding mercenary.
So I'm hoping corporate will allow that rather than just Rhys from Borderlands.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.I'm not holding my breath on nearly every class resulting in almost different stories, but it's a nice concept. Age of Decadence executed it well but that game was on a smaller scale so to speak.
I imagine it'll be more the case of DA: I where it's one central story and special story options for each class.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Just a word of warning; that article is specifically talking about Cyberpunk, not a rundown of how the setting itself will be presented in the game.

So that means that there will be other available places other than Night City?
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy.More likely that the scope of the narrative simply cannot be as vast or varied as initially described. A good example is probably going to end up being the portrayal of media spin or attempts at preserving the truth; just how the hell do you represent that sort of complex nuance in a videogame?
At least the other, more straightforward or combat-savvy characters will be easier to portray, since they essentially just embody a different approach to battle. Still... balancing melee weapons with guns? That's never easy.
Hard work and dedication that is.
The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy. One of the ideas Vince had about (the admittedly very early in development) The New World RPG is to make meleeing an ambush tactic by combining it with explosives and smoke. Stab them when they can't see you cearly enough to take an accurate shot.

I'm hoping there's a chance to pick / choose character class. I had heard a rumour that it was a defined character, but that (I don't think) would work as well in something like Cyberpunk, which has no central "persona" to really hang the world on. The Witcher very much DOES.
If they can get experiences in there that don't all boil down to combat, I will be very impressed. The worldbuilding of the tabletop game is fantastic (albeit a bit cheesy when you look at it now!)
So, reveal trailer... seems busy and I do doubt it'll have THAT level of fidelity (looking at you Mr Witcher 3 original trailer)
So far they've also updated the website - and it looks like it's a set main character (They have a name) - now, whether this character is male / female I'm not sure, but the trailer below shows a chap. Lets see how in depth it could get.
There was one blink and you miss it shot of a girl in the same coat. About 1.11.
There is so much sunshine... and palm trees. Not something I expect to see in cyberpunk.
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.I'm guessing it'll be like a Mass Effect situation - main character has a neutral name (V can be male or female here) and you customize their appearance and class.
From what I recall, the clean look is a deliberate choice due to the saturation of grittiness in the genre.
Just an impression. Reminds me of Borderlands, in a good way. I like a sun burnt landscape full of vibrant colors.
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson.I think the clean look is a huge mistake because pollution of the air and environment kind of goes with soulless corporations.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. To be fair, a deceptive look is also a thing corporations will go for. Artstyle Dissonance exists for a reason.

Plus it gives it a unique look.
Not really a problem there, it's all supposed to be pretty on the outside but dirty on the inside.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yep. Remember even though it's the worst place to live in America it's attracted a lot of people as a city of promise. Plus, the grittiness and stuff might turn up as you go deeper.
Cyberpunk as a genre tends to have color mixed with its grittiness. Although some cyberpunk lean more on one side each way.
So far I love it. More cyberpunk games are always welcome and this looks like a must buy for me so far.
Also, definitely gonna play the female character.

The first post when it was first announced was in 2012.
Be interesting to see what 6 years of development looks like in the game.
