The trope description says "a cadre of bodyguards from a foreign land".

Not "people of a different race".

If that were the case, than white Secret Service agents guarding President Obama are "Foreign Bodyguards" and that clearly isn't the case.

I believe we're overthinking this. We can disqualify any image by over-analyzing, but that doesn't get us anywhere.

[up][up] Fine then we shall settle for no less than bodyguards and their charges holding their passports. Since anything else would not illustrate the trope.

Heck, if you are going to get THAT nitpicky, the Vatican Guards are terrible examples, since everyone in the Vatican City is a foreigner. No one in the population with Citizenship there is "native" to the Vatican - They ALL are foreigners. So Foreigner Bodyguards in a country made almost entirely of foreigners isn't exactly an example. Heck if you look at it from the opposite POV, Papal Swiss army guards HAVE Vatican Citizenship, making them no longer foreigners.

Showing a different races is a shorthand for showing different nationalities. Or more.

As for being a single bodyguard, there are examples on the page with single, foreign bodyguards.

The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.

^^^^ That is exactly what I meant to address by Tropes Are Flexible. "Different species" says "foreign" way more clearly than "different uniforms", IMO. Orcs and dwarves are almost certainly from different places, anyway. Can't guarantee it? Can't guarantee the sun didn't explode eight minutes ag-...

Crowner's here. I only added what I thought was the best of the Avatar images; feel free to put more of them on, but they're all very small and very similar.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
