I'm happy my character does not fly and does not like Quidditch.

Elisa is quite into Quidditch, so I'm glad someone else is interested in creating the broomlore.

Yay for having precisely jack all knowledge about the world and hence not knowing enough to care.

I'm assuming you're using the HP wiki as the primary research source, right?

That, Lexicon, and my own mind. Like I said, not much is on Brooms after Book 4. For less open places like teachers and stuff, that was already set up by the previous GM, so I'll just go with what they put, and run the personalities how I interpret them.

The broom companies have actual names, but they are currently not important and not recognizable, but I will use them when needed in story.

If however I do something that blatantly contradicts canon, let me know and cite it. I'm more than willing to correct myself, since I'm not as knowledgeable about HP stuff off the top of my head

Now, is anyone waiting on me?

Yeah, sure. I've been doing a lot of research on the world for the RP I'm running, but most of that has been world background, with relatively little on Hogwarts.

In any case, since you're the new GM, mind if I bring in my character?

Just a bit of meta-background, I intend to play Arkady as a midway between the wizard and mundane worlds. He's grown up in an environment where he couldn't be fully absorbed into one culture or another, so as a result he's kind of a product of both worlds, fast-forwarded into adulthood, and still exploring both heritages.

Also he's a result of my fascination with geopolitics. Voldie hid out in Albania before his return. He died in 1998. Within a year or two, the Kosovo War breaks out, a war where the Albanian population in Kosovo is heavily involved. That's not counting all the !!fun!! in Yugoslavia before then, either. Can't be a coincidence.

But he hadn't been in Albania since 1994.

He had a support network to fall back upon between 1981 and approximately 1991. Considering his views and his charisma (even as a ghost), it's inconceivable that he hasn't been forming other Death Eater-like movements outside of Britain.

Heh, Alister's not really a fast flyer unless he's had a while to prepare beforehand. That and his skills lie more in dodging and accurately throwing Quaffles into the goal than speed.

I see. Cardy is more of a lacking-precision type, and just sorta charges. Good for a Beater.
