Watch the video for any changes.
Chewie warbling Silent night in the background is great.
Optimism is a duty.Gollum getting close to the Eye of Sauron after a while, the changing puppets, a different sith with Palpatine (Maul, both versions of Vader, Dooku with and without hands, and I think one other), and the various jokes moves or sang differently at one point (and not just because their part of the song changes either).
T'was a fun little ditty I'll admit.
One Strip! One Strip!Oh snap, that Justice League jab.
Eh, that was a bit weak. Guess they liked it a lot.
Secret SignatureStrange's intervention was my favorite part. "Okay, you guys were supposed to leave promptly and instead I'm detecting even more cross-dimensional activity."
Also: "Don't worry, Hulk fine!" He really is. Getting Hulk onboard with the plan was always going to be a hard sell because his life was perfect. I mean, it sucked for everyone else forced to compete in the ring with him, but Hulk? He was living the dream.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Honestly, the bit with Doctor Strange is probable the most true to how this would go down in the Comic.
That's true. In general, Strange's brief appearance in Ragnarok makes me wish once more that his movie had sent him to the monastery years ago, around the start of the MCU, and allowed him to have several years of study and practice to become as capable as he is now. The film did a disservice to its own character by doing that "White guy masters an entire culture in like two weeks" thing.
Especially since by now, it's pretty well established that the writers of later movies don't really pay that much attention to the previous ones and tend to write the characters as though they were their comic counterparts rather than their MCU versions. In Strange's case, Ragnarok presents him like he's the comics' master of sorcery and arcane knowledge rather than the film's guy who flailed about out of his element for a while but then came up with a clever trick to save the day.
Comic Strange is a magical Action Hero, a master of all things magical who kicks in doors and unloads the arcane arts in the faces of otherworldly threats that never knew what hit them. Film Strange is more of a magical Action Survivor, struggling to get by with his wits and a handful of neat tricks. But Ragnarok Strange is cool, collected, and completely in control of things like the comic version.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.It's not actually made clear when Strange's story took place.
At most, we get a slight timeline via the existence of Avengers tower in the background, but it could still easily take place some time before the events of the first Avenger's movie, as we have no idea how far along the tower was at that point.
One Strip! One Strip! It's completely clear where the movie takes place. At the beginning of the film, Strange turns down an offer to operate on Rhodey in the wake of the latter's Civil War paralysis.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I think the writers came out and said that the test pilot in the power armor was not Rhodey, it was just some random guy. I do know the first half takes place in 2016, since I recall that there was a watch or something in Strange's apartment that had the year it was made on it.
Yeah, Word of God confirmed it's not Rhodey, which IMHO feels more like they are backpedalling for the sake of the timeline or something (otherwise, WHY include such a reference everyone will interpret to be Rhodey)
I would have spelled out that it was one of the poor suckers who tried to test one of Hammerβs failed prototypes. But whatever.
The HISHE The Last Jedi will be out in a week.
I'm hoping for a joke like this to happen:
Kylo: Wait, what if we're related? Rey: Never bothered me. Kylo: Ok! (Both of them proceed to make out much to the disgust of everyone around them...except Luke).
How The Last Jedi Should Have Ended.
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!1000000/10 that was great.
Secret SignatureThat vid, while funny and a parody, still feels like it completely misses the points of most of the things it suggest to change. I don't watch all of the HISHEs but, from what I've seen with other movies, most of the scenarios they proffer are ones that make sense to logically follow from the events prior.
But here its stuff like Rey not being blood related to any mighty a Jedi or Luke never fighting again and those are kind of important for the themes of the movie so the suggested changes seem terrible and consequently not amusing. Maybe that's just me though.
Yeah, I didn't really agree with a lot of the changes either. I love The Last Jedi so I might be biased, but most of these changes felt more like fanservice. It's ironic because that is not exactly what the movie is famous for, unlike its two direct predecessors. In fact, the movie is very light on fanservice, if you ask me.

Some of the changes made sense, and fit in with already existing complaints about the movie.
Optimism is a duty.I think the Rey and Snoke changes are more mocking the two most prevalent fan theories prior to the movie than suggesting an actual change, and honestly, sort of presenting how they wouldn't make sense.
Like Obi-Wan would just mention she's his grand daughter, which raises the question about him having had a child he never mentioned, and how ultimately, what would be the point? everyone just cheering about who she's related to?

Eh. I liked it.
Sometimes when they deliberately ignore certain things to make their jokes, it's kinda annoying, but in this case, I was chuckling too much to complain.
Five stars.
One Strip! One Strip! So no Incest jokes.
Of course i like the idea Rey is related to someone since that would explain why she's powerful with the Force.

So it's been confirmed a HISHE for Thor Ragnarok is in the works.
I hope they make joke about Thor and Loki learning from their father Odin that Hela is their older sister....and the brothers rejoice and go celebrating on learning about their older sister just like Darth Vader. And for extra funny, once Hela meets her younger brothers, she too will geek out and celebrate upon learning she has two younger brothers while Odin can only do nothing but facepalm on why all of his children are idiots.
