"Define Characters By Tropes" Thread

I noticed there were two threads concerning forming original characters out of tropes, so I decided to post a thread for defining those exact characters with the intended tropes that were enforced. If not, then define that character with whatever tropes that seems to describe them at the moment. Either way, you can simply define any character without posting any of your own. Advice to other writers here are also welcome and the thread is all for fun. I'll start off.

"I watched the couples frolic down the streets outside through the food court window, hands locked, smiles stretched from ear to ear, bodies only millimeters from each other. The scenery inside the food court was no different: sweethearts feeding each others while uttering cutesy baby-talk, while others simply drifted into a trance while gazing into the pools of their significant others' pupils. It was to point out the obvious that love was in the air.

And a rancid smell it was. The scent of my orange chicken acting as a freshener, I lost my appetite looking at these love-diseased fools. I knew I didn't have to look at them, and though I acknowledged how creepy it sounded, every direction where I would avert my gaze, there were always a pair of lovers within the path of my vision, displaying their affections for the other without a care in the world. At the end of day, I couldn't complain nor do anything about it; it's their lives, and if they're happy, then why should it matter what I thought?

Maybe this was why people sought for romance, relentlessly in search for someone to hold them during those rainy days, to keep them warm during the cold sequence of the winter, to have their hands entwined with another, just to have someone there for them. It didn't seem worth the trouble, just for that kind of happiness. Love is already a complicated thing, so why even bother with it? It causes stress, ruins lives, and even ends them indirectly. Look at Romeo and Juliet: love can be very rewarding in its own way, but those two earned the quite the first place prize out of that one.

The dedication, communicating, effort, trust, I would never waste my time working that hard for someone who could leave me in a second, let alone be moronic enough to leave myself that vulnerable just to trust them. It was possibly my standoffish demeanor that repelled others; I don't pry open that easily. No matter how many times people will claim I'll change my mind sooner or later, I always tell them that the seemingly jaded and bitter man that I am will never give anyone the time of day in such a manner.

I rose from the table and marched for the exit.

"Love...how disgusting."

I'm not quite sure you understand what "define" means.

Characters should be built organically, not by some kind of rigid, sequestered divisions ie "defining them by tropes".

It doesn't sound like that's what the OP is talking about in the first place, which is why I'm confused.

This is sort of like the 'What Would Your Character do in the Above Situation" thread, except with tropes and excerpts.

Basically, you list tropes for the character in the excerpt above and then post an excerpt of one of your own characters.

^ This, like, saying this character is a Lady of War, or a Deadpan Snarker.

I should have said "Describe this character".

Well I hope this isn't an exercise to aid in writing, because when you start sticking labels on your characters, you're severely limiting yourself creatively.
