And who DIDN'T say Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Sound Of Music, etc, doesn't exist in the monster world? They could be the same movies, but with monsters instead.

That trailer made me wanna see it a BIT more, but still not completely convinced. I did laugh at the extra toe part, and the girls' eyes turning red.

It's concept art. I was drawn years ago. It looks like a cut out of a larger image too. Maybe it was originally a picture of a regular class, but the artist edited it to include Sully and Mike. In fact, that's probably the best explanation

Guys... humans exist in the Monster Inc. universe. They're people they scare, probably.

Maybe it's a museum where the monsters can go see what humans look like.

i'm still sad over how one line on the movie that is used as a joke and never mentioned again is not canon

Except by the way Mike said it, we have no proof if the meant it as a joke. Especially when it's similar to another line Sully said in a teaser.

Wait why would they need guns? Is this from the original film? I don't think your allowed to have guns in a dorm

If it *had* been meant as a joke, we WOULD have been told so, ex: "You've been like that since the fourth grade""We had not yet met at the fourth grade!!" Otherwise it doesn't work.

Maybe you naysayers should be the ones to give it up?

the ones who won't let a single line that was only mentioned once in the first film ruin this movie for us or the ones who take that line as some kind of important plot point

Or at least get some new material. Two people going "Oh I am so depressed because this thing is not true!" on the same page is just lazy.
