Fixed. Sorry about that; I was tired when writing this.

Also, Lightning should be capable of speaking and being heard at this point. She simply can't vibrate her way out of the field suspending her above the ground, but that doesn't prevent her voice from travelling through the air.

Is Volt capable of altering the electrical charge on his own body to allow him to pass through walls? Would that have been in the file?

I'm back, with story-breaker powers!

Seriously, what I had Matthew and Kara just do has a lot of obvious drawbacks (the most immediate one being the other people get to have their characters yell at Matthew), so don't expect me to pull that trick all the time to nullify every fight in the story. That would be too easy.

Meh, I was going to have Strix crazy-reason his way through the trick and warn the others, but your thing works too.

Also, I'll point out Strix will be the last to be awakened, due to the fact that he's unregistered and all. The registered characters will wake up first.

Whildcard was too busy boppin' Strongman with his cane - and I'd assume he was a bit away, too, so unless Kara is a really lazy psychic, I don't think he should have been put in the same "they're attacking you" category as everyone else.

Could you have Matt actually explain that? Everyone else thinks he's a guard. Wildcard's not going to suddenly get a bolt of divine intervention telling him that Strix is anything other than a guard, so Matt'll have to speak up.

Didn't they read his mind earlier or something? If not, scratch what I just said.

Do I need to point this out again? Except for telepathy Matt and Kara have no way to tell that Strix is an unregistered superhero because he's out of costume and dressed as a prison guard.

Even then, did they do some kind of search through the depths of everyone's minds to identify him, because he's paranoid enough to keep like...seven layers of Psychic Static composed of ordinary people thoughts, catchy pop tunes and ancient meditation up to make it harder for telepaths to read him.

Yeah, Kara first detected the whole group with telepathy before Matthew even saw them, and told Matthew that Strix was a super (here).

Given that this is a super dressed as a security guard, do you think a detective like Matthew won't put 2 and 2 together, even if he doesn't know who Strix is? I'll bring it up in my next post, once the registered supers are awake or something.

Strix isn't a super, though, he's a normal person. That was what caused confusion last time. That's also why Wildcard never understood what what Matt meant by "other super".

Regardless, he still looks like a guard, so it's going to be a bit silly for Matt to sit by and say absolutely nothing while everyone thinks he's a guard.

Hmmmm, okay, but in this case he'd assume Strix is a civilian (or equivalent), and still keep him asleep for his own safety. I'll go back and tweak my old post a bit, but either way, Strix is still going to be last to wake up.

I sometimes wonder what the point of secret identities or vigilantes are at all if there are other telepathic characters who can just rip all of your secrets out of your head.

and yup. He has no powers at all other than a rediculous amount of knowledge, skills, money and access to a super computer.

I was planning on addressing that later in the RP by having Matthew read out a modified version of Miranda Rights.

Basically, unless it's an emergency situation (which this counts as), he has a search warrant, or he has some other form of approval (like when they tried to help Red Cap), he and Kara are going to not do anything.

@Nman: ...No, Volt can't pass through walls. I didn't even know that was a possible option for Electro's. (My term for Supers with Electric Powers.)

I'd figure the government would be pretty wary or disturbed by the existence of telepaths and psychics, at least considering the amount of secrets they have to hide, nuclear launch codes and everything else someone could acquire with a thought.

Especially since in this Wo H universe there seems to be no way at all to prevent them from reading your mind.

I'd say that the majority of telepaths work for government agencies just to prevent this sort of thing. They'd probably try to get them when they are young and train them for that. (Conspiracy theories, ho!)

One of the reasons Matthew isn't doing that kind of work is that he's technically not the one with full telepathic powers. So they didn't recruit him (good for them, as controlling Kara would be difficult in that case).

I also think Strix would HATE telepaths, mainly on general principle that you can never really keep secrets from one and no amount of planning or anything else is useful against them. Not to mention Scio is a sickeningly hollow sociopath.

Also, I wonder if there's a way to hurt ghosts or track and see them...Well, besides magic of course.

But yeah, you're pretty much on target calling Scio a sociopath (it doesn't fit in exact terms, but close enough). He's really only doing this because he's afraid of losing his job and not out of any genuine concern for the populace, although he'll gladly cite utilitarian consequentialism as his justification for breaking Lightning's bones when asked. Of course, there's also no logical point in prolonging her agony any more than necessary if it doesn't get results, so if it doesn't appear to be working, he'll probably just break her other leg to make sure she can't escape or pursue and head off to join in the fight against Mastermind and company.

Also, thanks for bringing that up, because I've been wanting to address it. If anyone ever feels I'm going too far with Scio - including right now - please let me know. I mean, I'm sure you would anyway, but just so you know that I'm open to criticism. I'm not a sociopath in real life, of course.
