Wow, looks like that image has been there since November 2010. I guess the forums weren't quite as strict about the no full comics rule back then.
According to the page history it was since briefly changed to this◊, which while a bit humorous isn't really indicative of anything.
Hmmmm, will it be fair to use if we remove the third panel? It's really nice...
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI think this would still work without the third panel. Maybe we could even get rid of panel #1.
Chop off the 3rd panel and we're golden.
Panel 2 would suffice on its own, really.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything. If only someone found the comic in its original size.
Alternatively, for the sake of a less text-dependent image:
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon Stewart
A bit dark and too little contrast, I'd say.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHmm? The image seems clear enough to me.
In any case, I don't have the DVD with me (screenshot was taken long ago when I rented it) nor am I familiar enough with image editing to know how to properly adjust brightness and contrast. Anyone here have the DVD and/or good enough image editing skills to fix that?
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartHow is a cat kicking a dog more text-dependent than a cat aiming a baseballbat at a dog?
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Well, for one thing, it doesn't specify how steep the drop is. It could be a very small drop, for which kicking them off it is still mean, but not necessarily as mean as a baseball bat hit to the head.
That the Garfield one is copyrighted is enough reason to shift to an alternative, but I figured I would mention the text-less nature of my alternative as somewhat of a bonus for it.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI dislike Garfield (and the idea of cutting one panel off a strip, that is rules lawyery) but the text doesn't matter much there, I think zero text does not earn any Bonus Points over text that isn't relied upon. In fact I think the text adds a little, since it specifies the (lack of) motivation.
Also "mean" is not among the words I would use to describe using a baseball bat as a weapon.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. This is one time I wish LO Lcats were allowed, as I've got a perfect one in mind. Alas...

I still like Garfield minus the last panel...
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerWhat about the middle panel by itself?
Got some more options:
- Panels 2 and 3◊
- Panel 2, or 1 and 2◊
- Kick!◊
- Abu Dhabi...could we get away with just the last panel?
Panel 2 of the second comic works best for me. I think it looks even better than panel #2 of the pulled image, because of Garfield's smile.
I don't like the last picture of Garfield kicking Odie, since Odie looks happy getting abused.
EDIT: I just noticed that panel #3 of the last comic wouldn't work for people who don't know Garfield's species.

Same here, but I was being fed ideas and I didn't want to refuse anything.
I still prefer the orignal image with only the middle panel.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything. Why?
Anyway, I like the "panel #2" of the new suggestions as it shows the kick more directly than panel #2 of the previous page image.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartI like his bored expression.
I'm not saying the other isn't good, though. I am saying I prefer the first one.
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.I agree, I like just the second panel of the original image too. Garfield's expression, combined with his actions really sells it. Plus, it's not text-heavy.

To me, it looks a little bit like Garfield didn't notice Odie in his way. The other comic shows Garfield clearly finding joy in animal abuse.
