Ghost was in the first wall scene. He was gnawing on a bone.

You know it just dawned on me how dickish Ellaria was to Doran in the second episode. Regarding Oberyn's death, she tells him he'll "sit there and do nothing". He's wheel-chair bound man he'll sit there and do nothing. That's weapons-grade insensitivity.

@ Mad Skillz: Dualism is the core of Zoroastrianism as well and the Great Other seems much more like Angra Mainyu than the Demiurge as it is a great opposing force rather than the flawed or evil creator of the material world.

They don't explain why he's in a wheelchair. I wonder if they'll discuss it later.

@Draco Well I don't know for sure. The author just said the Red Religion takes influence from Catharism, he doesn't say what part of Catharism that he takes influence from.

I'd say that was the least dickish thing Ellaria said, honestly. Between the whole "gee, am I the only one who cared about your brother?" thing and the "let's mutilate the innocent girl!" bit, it was hard to sympathize with her even though I loved Oberyn in a manly fashion.

I was really surprised by that Dornish scene. I was convinced. CONVINCED. That the Dornish response to Oberyn's death would be attempting to declare Mycella Lanister Queen by right of Dornish gender neutral inheritance.

But it seems the plot is much more, "Do we want revenge and risk a war, or do we enjoy being an isolated kingdom?"

I guess it doesn't make sense for them to push Mycella's claim to the throne, other than to dispose of the rest of the Lanister's influence on the crown. But as far as they care; Tywin Lanister, the one responsible for all the Dornish deaths in the last few decades, has got his just deserts.

Ah well, the actual Dornish plot still seems interesting; may not be an angry political succession crisis like I had predicted, but it will be nice to see some actual diplomacy be attempted.

Yeah, who exactly are they going to go to war with? Tywin's dead, the Mountain is presumed dead, Joffrey's dead (I know he wasn't involved in anything here, but I'm sure they still hated him).

Just keep killing until they get bored?

Really, Dorn is the only Kingdom which is pretty damn safe as it is. Their only grievance is that some of their relatives got killed. They're already the most independent of the nine vassals.

I wouldn't mind if Dorne got left alone when the White Walkers murder everything.

This feeling crossed my mind that Jon Snow (and Bran) might unite the North and the Wildlings from north of the Wall as their King of the North, while Dany unites the rest of Westeros, and then they have some political marriage that unites everything. Of course, Ramsay Bolton may have something to say about that, so to speak:

I've heard that theory before, and it makes thematic sense as it's a fusion of Ice (Starks) and Fire (Targaryan).

It helps that one of Jon Snow's closest allies is a Targaryan. I'd love to see him meet Dany.

Eh, I wouldn't consider any place ruled by Crazypants and then Littlefinger to be horribly safe. But yeah, still probably one of the better places to be.

The Vale is pretty well of, save for the murderous hill tribes and how difficult it is to navigate making food distribution during winter presumably difficult.

On the topic of the John Snow Ice and Fire thing, until last weekend, I had it in my mind that John, possibly being a Targarian's bastard would be legitimized by the barren Dany as a nephew so her dynasty would have an heir and apparent long term legitimacy and will. and so he eventually inherents Westeros as King.

He did turn down WF because of them.
